  1. To load it onto the flatbed truck? I will just rent one, and then have it sit outside my house till I can get my garage clean. Its gonna cost me somewhat between 1$ and 100$, but I can spend that much.

And does anyone what would be the appropriate department to call in the MTA Headquarters phone number about buying a subway car?

Hopefully, I can preserve this subway car since there are only 4 left

lol, you must be joking? $100 on a flatbed truck.... lol

  2. Im sorry if i sould like a dumba** but whatis a CTBC exactly? I mean the R188's are shiner and newer and have the new annocments and door chimes and motors, but they are exctly the same as R142's.

Have you try using Google? Try Google, search CBTC.

R188s are exactly the same as R142A just upgrading with CBTC package. There is no new door chimes or new motors. Part of the R188 fleet does have newly built cars that are very new and they are exact replica of R142A.

  3. NICE sucks.

No kidding. Their fleet is so bad. It's even worst the Triboro Coach or Green Lines during pre-MTA takeover days. Dirty in and out, weak engine, no heat, destination sign broken, back doors can't close, broken lights in and out, leaky roofs, wheelchair lifts inoperable, missing runs, longer waits, no communication between NICE management and the NICE bus drivers and NICE customers which they are not NICE, etc.

  4. In "NICE can do no wrong mode" again?  1817 had a fist-sized hole in the roof above the rear middle seat and beeped the entire way I was on it.  On the way out, a 2003 Orion V CNG was on a tow truck on Glen Cove Road.  If I wasn't on an LIRR train going ~60 MPH just as the bus went under the overpass, I could have gotten a look at the number on the roof.  This system is absolute shit and I love how they've completely lost all the steam they had going in 2012.  Where are the ridership figures?

Newsday reported 4 months ago, the daily average ridership drop almost half since the take over. 101,000+ in 2011 down to 60,000 in 2014. http://www.newsday.com/long-island/nassau/nice-bus-gomobile-app-downloaded-6-700-times-in-two-months-officials-say-1.8993784#

    NICE indeed.

  5. I don't believe you at all. Never rode a NICE bus?

And these are fairly new buses too! What about the V CNGs?

No I haven't, I would like to though.

I've seen the videos that Pinepower LI post on his youtube. Some are not pretty. I really hope some of this money for FY 2015 goes to maintenance and service improvements.

    smh.

    R62CNG / 2003OrionVIICNG / jgood6195 / Chargerdoge9 / 1995 Orion V CNG who ever you are.
