I don't know how true it is, but it seems to be that the more seniority, perhaps the harder it is for them to be canned. Something else to consider. Sometimes the dispatchers or supervisors are friends with the drivers. It can work both ways.... If the dispatcher or supervisor doesn't like them, then it can go the other way too. There is that guy named "The Hat". He seems to be well known on the BxM4 and he goes out of his way to make their commutes a living hell. I don't know what the story is, but I believe something happened. I got him once years ago when I needed to be in Westchester. He drove so slow, stopped at green lights, etc. I got up to 242nd and Katonah shortly before the next scheduled bus, which was supposed to be 30 minutes away. Person was waiting to pick me up like 45 minutes after I should've been there to head up to Westchester. Once I saw that, I said forget this. Switched over to Metro-North.

Hey, that wasn't me. I used do the super express over 10 years ago & I made the trip from end to end in 39 minutes. You are talking about "Tank", You need to be better at claiming what people do, especially when anyone can tell you, I've never done anything like that my entire career. You see you've gone out of your way to avoid me, even though I wanted to HELP fix or at least obstruct what the MTA was doing to the former LLE routes & service. I now (I'm retired) can say, I offered you internal documents & to meet you with them as far back as 2008. I don't know where you get the impression that I was that B/O, when I know who & what you look like, but apparently don't know me even after I gave you a very CLEAR description & my paddle. Thanks for slandering me...

Am I missing something about 9207? It was just posted. Here's that link again: https://www.propertyroom.com/l/1996-nova-rts-brooklyn-ny-11214/11926092#. Retired from MTA to NYPD use, NYPD use to police auction. Only 200k miles!

281,114 to be exact & I can confirm without a shadow of a doubt, the auction ended. Propertyroom.com can't relist something they no longer have...

While the bus is in the scrap yard, it may not be scrap. System roster does not have it on the scrap list, so it should not be deemed as such.

There is a good chance they will repair 8126. 1258 had similar damage and it got rebuilt. Lets not rush to judge it so quickly.

From the MTA list you can deem it scrapped.

8831 to scrap. 5035 to storage.

Prove to me it's scrapped, I have irrefutable proof it is certainly not. Remember I'm The Hat, Roster or not it is NOT scrapped, it furthest from a scrap yard that it ever will be...

  6. So forgive my ignorance here, but these buses come out of the program with any mechanical faults fixed, a new engine if necessary, and then the Grand Avenue buses get a new coat of paint as well?

There are 81 items in the scope of the program, if the bus is a program bus it will get a replacemnet powertrain if needed and if has a bad trans. they will replace the trans. Some mech. issues are in the scope, some aren't e.g. a/c is not in the scope, but 9010 is having it's condensor coil replaced @ Grand.
  7.

The bus (2251) is labeled for NYC Bus, supposedly MTA Bus will see some off this order as well. But we'll see, the MTA changes its mind hourly!

The bus for the most part is a carbon of 2210-2250, but there is some changes in the operators compartment also the outside rear panel has some extra louvers towards the top which matches the latest rear ends of the D4505 coachess coming out of MCI. These also sport a different powertrain than the 2210-2250 batch.

-This bus has orange Horison gen IV signs, the side sign is just like the C40LF.

-This bus has the 380hp ISL to an Alison B500R w/ progressive shift.

-This bus has an improved exhaust defuser.

-This bus has the new drivers dash set up for the commuter criuser & the new MCI steering wheel.

-This bus has the new DPF seperate fuel tank.

-This bus has the bus time & Clever IVR & these devices take up the First 2 Street side parcel racks along with the radio.

    -This bus has disc brakes.

-This bus has all led lighting, including the reverse and dash lights.

-This bus has outlets for passenger at 6 locations throuout the bus.

-This bus has American seating, but the upholsery is in a similar color and pattern of the Prevost.

-This bus DOES NOT have an ultra capacitor.

-This initial bus order is NOT going to MTA Bus.

-The option order MAY have some go to MTA Bus if part of the order is FTA funded.

-This order is NOT replacing the 7400's, the 7400's just had seat replacement and upgrade completed.

-This destination of this order has NOT been determined, but are replacing 1999 & 2000 model DL3's, the fait of the reserve fleet of MCI's in ECH is still to be determined.

-This informations' source, is the dpartment that ordered the bus.

-I was present and the first part of the initial acceptance proceedure at Zerega.

-This information is NOT up for interpretation.

  8. Update 4812 and 4899, as of 6pm today (seen with my own two), BOTH buses are sitting at Zerega, confirmed. 4812 is standard spec, 4899 is sporting some sort of a silver engine (report was it is a Detroit DD11...Need confirm on that).

What else did you see @ Zerega? I know what I saw Friday evening. You want the exclusive or should there be another TheHat exclusive?
  9.

Good for you that you can handle the work but it's pretty surprising the MTA doesn't have more shifters to avoid that kind of 15, 16 hour day. I guess the story is that ECH RTSes head to LGA, LGA's oldest get rehabbed and go to QV, and the BLs get replaced by ex-NYCT RTSes from around the system?

So much for light duty, huh. One man unit on a two man post. Well I did have the help of 4 other BO's, on the ENY & BP moves, it's just the coordination of the moves rely on FB & radio removal after the buses are used to make the PM peak. I have done one-by-one moves of as many buses before. LGA's oldest are not of issue. The ones for QV are buses that have been in & completed the "program". ECH RTS come to LGA, but as of late the BL's have no replacements in the deployment. Perhaps we may get other Nova RTS from depots. Or we may get some out of ECH storage/scrap, god help LGA if we do. I have a feeling that the rest of the buses we received from QV via Zerega "program" will leave also.
  10. Ok confirmed 138 is now at the BP depot.

8756,64,98,8806&10 At ENY CMF for prep to go to QV 8803 upon completion of program. All moved as a task force bus move last night. 3279,80,81 to LGA for fall pick deployment. More RTS moves to come from ECH as part of this deployment. Hold on to yor Hats! Get it Thehat, hats! I know pretty lame, but I did a 15-hour shift on these 138,8756,64,98,8806&10 along with other vendor moves and very, very beat. I also have the final fall 2012 deployment and my work is cut out for me.
  11. Have you been on those D60s? They were heavily used in the Bronx and Manhattan. It's just like the ex-Bees at LGA, the buses are shot and need to go. Plus RTSs are very well built and better handle punishment and it's a 40' replacing a 40' bus.

The RTS is a bulletproof bus for our day and age. Just as the fishbowl before it, the RTS was improved over & over with each model. If buses of today were built to the same standard instead of the throw away crap like the O7, there would be no need for the BT&E program of the MTA. The BT&E shows that most buses on the market today are not able to survive the streets of New York. The fishbowls were also bulletproof and like the RTS, just care for the bulkheads, powertrain and seal the body properly to keep the harness dry and free of corosion. Those old workhorses, um I mean warhorses can last forever. That's IMHO, I could be wrong, but ask this. Why do the O7's need a midlife rehab at 4yrs. instead of 6yrs. and still SHYT PCS, traction motors & severe frame cracks that Orion needs to fix weekly at Oriskany on the NG which was an improvement over the OG?
  12. Since 15:23 today for 8991...and DB still showing 9126 as a EC bus, until it's patched up and photographed on a LG route OR shows up in the DB as a LG bus, I'm leaving it at EC...All too often a bus shows up at a place but then in a day or two shows right back up at another location.

Leave it all you like, I delivered 9126 to LGA at 1537hrs. the DB you use is NOT the actual definitive location of equipt., Spear is. The DB you use is a compliation of UTS Spear and if the bus has GPS. If it does not have GPS like 9126 the DB will NOT give the assignment of the bus. 9126 is in FACT a not LGA and I drove it there, that's my job, that I am licensed & paid for. It has a pre-service inspection work order at LGA. TTMG can leave it in Eastchester, but TTMG is NOT the MTA and not the operator moving the bus and I AM PUTTING IT AT LGA. The depot control log in spear is the FACT of a buses location in the system. Decals are just that decals. 8933 has no home in the DB you use, but is in fact in Zerega, but assigned to LGA, so why doesn't it have a home in the DB? I know why, do you or your DB?
