  1. Well from Days 1 to 7 I had a "Scumbag" Superintendent/Instructor out of the Flatbush Depot (whose full name is Nelson Hernandez, very stocky/overweight). Not only did he not wear his seat belt, but he also ran a red light as well! I did write a very nasty letter to Zerega shortly afterwards saying that they were going to take appropriate action. Let's just say that I'll believe it when I see it.

Day 9 I almost hit a person who was an idiot who walked right in front of the bus while servicing a bus stop.

I'm not going to even talk about Day 10, since the "scumbag" Superintendent/Instructor was one of them, in addition to a nasty African-American Superintendent who was from the MTA Bus Company, who approached me in the cafeteria @ 8:30 AM asking me if I was ready to go, when the Day 8 & 9 Superintendent said 9 AM.

And most of these Superintendents get paid at least $90,000/year and they treat their students like s**t? Please...

Are you sure it is a good idea to call your superior names in open public forum ? You do know that if this ends up on the desk of that supervisor you may have lots of trouble getting a job in this company in the future ... Their word is the last word and it is not something you can argue with ( it is sad, but it is truth ).

Mr. Hernandez was my first instructor in MTA and even though he can be a pain in the butt, he is tough and fair. He did tough us a lot with in the first 3 days ( then they swapped him and the lessons became too simple and noneducational )

He did not wear seatbelt ? He run a red light? SO F-ing WHAT !!! He passed his probation, YOU DIDNT ! So in the future, worry about YOU until you pass your probation and stop telling on your co-workers.

and regarding Day 9 ... That was whos mistake ? Supervisors ? or yours ? We deal with Idiots and dumb asses running across the street everyday , many times through out the day. We are tough to ignore them and let them pass.

Sorry dude, i am no trying to bust your balls, but this is an open forum, and you must watch what you are saying,  MTA does read this forum.

  2. When we officially become part of mta, Police tickets wont exist like that if you get pulled over unless its parking. Once you show your Bus ID pass they let you go. But you have to be reasonable and not cocky. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

Your pass will get you a free ride in Bus and train.  That is it. Dont expect any different treatment from cops

  3. I had NY CDL Class A license before I started working for MTA.

I remember there was someone with me in the class, who was told to bring an abstract to the second day of class, or he will be turned away ( My gues that had something to do with his out of state license. MTA cant pull abstract from other states. )

The copy from PDF is very clear Any license that is VALID in NY. So that means CT or CA or FL would be accepted. Learn to trust  the rules that writen , and follow them. Because your rules and contract are the only two things that will save your ass.

  4. u need a ny license to get in the door. Did u not read the NOE he posted? The ppl with out of state license prob changed it once they had some yrs on the job. Y would mta put info on the noe and don't go by it?

    ARE YOU AN IDIOT ???????

LET ME COPY AND PASTE IT FOR YOU ONE MORE TIME.

Driver License Requirement: At the time of appointment, you must possess either:

    1. A Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) valid in the State of New York, with a passenger

endorsement and no restrictions that would disqualify you from performing the duties of this position; or

    2. A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York and a CDL Learner Permit with a passenger

endorsement and no restrictions as referenced in #1 above.

Your CDL or motor vehicle license, or any combination thereof, must have been valid in the State of New

York for at least three years immediately prior to the date you are appointed to this position.

any state  LICENSE WILL BE OK. READ IT CAREFULLY.  i even change the font size of the important part for you.

Thats exactly what happen. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

    No shit !

    That dude is DUMB

  5. There is no residency requirement for this position.

Your D/L or CDL must be valid in the State of New York for three years prior to appointment. So as long as you have driving privileges from any jurisdiction recognized in accordance with New York law, you should be good to go.

At Yukon on Staten Island, there are B/O's from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

From the job announcement (which everyone should keep a copy):

    http://web.mta.info/nyct/hr/archives/pdf/4600.pdf

I bet some people here will still say that you are wrong, and you must have NY CDL in order to drive for MTA.

Some of these people dont realy care for the answer,  they just ask a question and start the flame war

  6. That's not true. U gonna need a ny license if u working for mta. Cuz u license could get suspended if it's from out of state and mta won't find out unless they c ya abstract. With a ny license they would know if ya license is suspended ASAP.

Do you know that for a fact ? There are many people who work for MTA and do not have NY license. So you are wrong.

  7. Ok, i could be wrong,

We did get our list numbers for two tests that i took (5025 and 8006 ? i think those were two tests), and as they needed people, they would call for BOSS ( and really, you have got to be a moron to fail BOSS )

Boss was given at 180 Livingston.

    I can admit if I am wrong ( very seldom ;)  )

  8. If you pass the exam, they will send you a letter to come take the BOSS exam. After the boss exam if you pass that, they will send you your test score and where you place on the list. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

    100% wrong !

First you will get as score, and based on that you will be given a list number. As they will need people , they will offer BOSS based on the list number.

I have not hear of anyone failing BOSS. There is no right or wrong answer, and there is no score.

  9. Well you can lie on BP test ;)

They will test you but if you are taking medications from BP and not tell them you maybe in trouble in the future.

They will still hire you, but you will be going to medical every 6 month, and listen to the lecture from the doctor who will tell you to take care of the BP.

As long as your BP is in check you should not have a problem

  10. Wait a second, what Exam are you talking about ???? BOSS ?

wait untill you are called for first interview, Dont go, they will kick you off the list, wait a bit and add your name back.

Go to Livingston and ask them straight up if this is the date of the conviction, when will be ok to reaply. What ever you do, DONT HIDE IT, they will find out and kill you ;)

  11. you will come to find that the 7-10 day training course was a lot more strict and harder than the DMV road test. As mentioned above you will be using an RTS...

    REMEMBER

you must do your ALSAPS in its entirety unless otherwise instructed. Don't fall for the game they play ...for example let's say you have done your Air leakage and Low Air Warning test the examiner may tell you, "ok, good let's go" DON'T move that bus just yet tell them that you still have 4 more test to conduct if after you say that and they say something like "nah it's ok let's go" then you go. Another thing...while doing your pre-trip inspection know what your talking about don't say things like "oh, this thing here is secure" tell them, "Radiator access door is clear of debris and is properly mounted and secured"

You dont realy need to call out or even know whats behind each pannel. If you will say the panel is secured you will be alright. Dont stress your self with different panel names ( radiator, transmission, battery and others )

50 ft brake test must be done, no matter if instructor told you skip the rest of ASAPS
