Not sure if this have been discussed previously.... is there any way of building a switch on the SB 6th Ave between the Local and Express tracks either before or after the Broadway-Lafayette Street Station so that the B and D can effectively route to 8th Avenue in both directions to and from the bridge. Or at least going from the local to express so that the above can be accomplished. Not sure if there is enough space without remove columns or any other support structures.

I am not sure extending the QB line by itself is a viable solution. It will just funnel more customers into an already packed line during the rush hour. There is enough delays on the express, especially during the morning, due to the tight headways and adding more passenger is not going to help that. It will simply add to the dwell time as riders try to squeeze on and add to the delays down the line. The majority of riders already jump from local to express now at Roosevelt regardless of how much of a sardine can it can be. Can you imagine if this express/local arrangement was extended further. It will simply add to the delays entering Forest Hills and at whatever the designated express stops are. This will work if there is a way to convince rider NOT to switch. But GOOD LUCK with that.

If we are talking about fantasies... I sure this been talked about to some extent before but here goes.. Make a 3 track connection between cypress hills and bway junction on the J along Jamaica Ave and complete the entire express track from there to 121 St. Make Woodhaven Blvd into an express station somehow. Build an new Cypress Hills station closer to Euclid and make it an express stop and three local station in btwn. Highland Blvd/Pl Warwick St/Ridgewood Ave Penn Ave-Bushwick Ave reconnect the three track before Bway Junction. Tear down the remaining Fulton Street El or make shuttle train on it. Additionally... Rebuild the Myrtle St (upper) and use it for Shuttle service to Metro and eliminate the M into manhattan. Make J service pattern similar to the 7 This will also allow the V to return in some manner (maybe into brooklyn)
