Kingsbridge Bus

I had recently seen 8986, 9151, and 9225 on West Farms routes.

I saw 7799 wrecked on the side where the left depot sicker was. They towed the bus away and put 8946 in it's place

8840 is at West farms.

Every time a group of RTS leave West farms, a new group of RTS come and replace them a few days later.

Just rode 5572 today, the farebox still says one ride is $1.50, and an express bus is $3.00. I wish.

I have been seeing quite a few buses with the fare sticker outside saying $2.00

6099 is at West farms, saw it today on the Bx21.

6094 is at West Farms, seen by me on the Bx36 last Friday.

Not sure if it was mentioned but 6122 was on the Bx3 tonight still with West Farms stickers

Okay, so 6122 is a Kingsbridge, when i saw it on the Bx13 I had thought that it was a school day run from West farms but the Bx3 does not have any weekday runs out of West farms.

I rode 9842 last week and an entire row of two seats were missing, people were standing where the two chairs should have been. Might be another sign of west farms neglecting it's buses.

I just saw 6122 on the Bx13 with West Farms stickers.

I'm not sure yet if 6122 is at Kingsbridge depot or is 6122 one of those rush hour trippers on the Bx13 from west farms

One broke down at the terminal at Waterside (I was walking over the overpass to work earlier at that time) and there was a Bus Mainainence truck parked behind it.

 

About 90 minutes after that, I went downstairs on my break and I saw the RTS rolling by under the overhang

That explains a lot. Do you by any chance have the broken down bus #?

There's an RTS on the M16 right now. The bus # is 5205 (or 5206)

One less 34st crosstown bus with a GPS on it.

6122, 6151-6153 are all at West Farms depot.

I got caught by surprise by 6009 on the Bx11 with fresh West Farms stickers, most likely kicked out 8946 out of west Farms the last RTS. I've been wondering if KB by any chance may be getting a new batch of buses, they have given up over half their Orion 5's in the past year had have gotten nothing in return.

I surprisingly rode 6153 on the Bx35 this morning. West farms sticker already on the bus.

6079 has been sent to West Farms depot from KB. Saw it on the Bx35 this morning with WF stickers.

West Farms is no longer having RTS?

Untrue, i saw 8947 on the Bx11 yesterday morning. it looks like they are disapearing though.

8941 is now at the ECH depot for the Bx-23.

I don't get why ECH needs so many buses for the Bx23, it is a very short route but yet have about a dozen buses for the particular route at the depot.

Orion 5 6209 has been moved to Kingsbridge with KB stickers. I saw it on the Bx3 and Bx13 recently.

6100 has left West farms depot and is now in service for Gun Hill Depot. No word on where 6095 is yet.

It's official, 6095, 6098, and 6100 entered West Farms service today.

1 note: Is M60 just using NGs at 126 St Depot with RTS?

When the M60 gets transfered to 126st, It will use NG's because the Ng's the M60 uses is equipted with luggage racks. However, RTS's may appear if extra buses are needed but it will most likely be all Ng's.

6100 and 8949 are now at West Farms Depot.

I also saw 6095 and 6098 near the West Farms depot area.

I thought of a route called Bx53 that runs from The Gateway Cntr and the Riverdale Metro-North station on 254st and palisade Ave. The route will run on Jerome ave from 161st and 174st. The bus will run up 174st to Madcombs Rd. The bus will then continue Northbound to Featherbed Ln. The the bus will then go Northbound through University Ave to Fordham Rd. The bus will the go westbound to to Sedgwick Ave. The bus will then go Northbound to Kingsbridge Rd. The line follows the Bx9 to 225st Station on the line. The bus will continue via the Bx20 route. after the end of the Bx20 route, my fantasy will go northbound on Riverdale Ave to 254st. The bus will finally make a left turn on 254st and end at the Riverdale Metro-North railroad station.

Changes on southbound direction

The Bx53 going southbound will make a left turn eastbound from University Ave onto Brandt Pl. The bus will then make a right turn onto Nelson ave. The bus will finally meet up with Featherbed Ln when it will meet back with the northbound side of the Bx53. This change has been made because to enter Featherbed from University ave, the bus will have to make a U-Turn at Grant-174st where its is very dangerous for any vehicle to make a U-turn.

The Bx53 replaces the Bx20 route full time

I'm not sure whether this is a loan or not but i spotted RTS 5060 yesterday on the (Bx36) picking up passengers on University Ave around noon.

Hmm, to be honest I'm genuinely surprised how quickly MHV's loaners have been leaving. One B/O I talked to said that MHV had been having severe shortages in terms of buses for use, which makes it even harder to understand how so many buses could be leaving. 10 buses were sent over, four of the RTSes left last Friday, 5017 is into hiding since Tuesday, 4420 is back home. Only four buses still there. 4422 and 4407 were in service Wednesday, so I wonder if those left as well. The only 'new' loaner MHV has gotten since the six left is 6722...

Well, 4407 is back, i rode it yesterday on the (Bx18), not sure about 4422.
