  1. How often does one need to take an HSR from one part of the US to the other? Again Europe's individual contries [not counting the European part of Russia] are nowhere near as large as the US is.

    So what works for one part of the world doesn't work for here. Why don't you try to ride a train for over 17 hours as opposed to taking a 5 hour flight?

     

    agreed, simply put the united states does not need HSR, no matter what company would run it they would lose money which would probally put the economy in a even tighter spot, the United States needs to keep what there doing and thats aircraft's. but if you go a little up North to Canada we could use a HSR heck we already have VIA Rail Canada that does travel all across canada but that's because our country is considerablly smaller than the us.

     

    so thats just my opinion... piece :)
