Get in touch with your union rep. And they should explain everything to you. And they should also tell you what you need and/or should do during this.

From the looks of things, seems as if UP needs 28-30 artic buses for the B1.
The remaining miscellaneous XD60s that could potentially make up that fleet is
4743-4753, 4756 from KB (12)
4782-4798 from GH (17)
Ulmer Park already has 4743-4745, 4756 (4).
All together those buses would give UP a fleet of 29.
Heard the 4 buses that UP has now
need to be fixed. They been parked outside for awhile.
And That's also why they have 6032 from FB to
train the drivers.

Another update, #6032 from FB Depot is ghosting the B1 for today it was seen on bay ridge near the Stop.
6032 is not ghosting the B1.
FB loaned it for driver training.
And with that does/would anybody know what Artic's
UP getting to use on the B1 and when?

7538 is at Ulmer Park

Would anyone happen to know why 4896 was near Quill earlier? I saw it going up 12th Avenue around 4:30
It was probably on the shuttle (think the 1 or 3 shuttle) and the driver
stopped there to use the bathroom, heading back to UP.

Does the B6 at Coney Island Avenue and Avenue J count?
I know there's one at the depot on Harway Avenue.
That's not a relief point. It's just the turn around for the shot trips.
Also there's the B36 relief up at Stillwell Ave and Surf Ave
And the B74 at Stillwell Terminal (Mermaid Ave)

I know I have mentioned this before a while ago but essentially all of Ulmer Park's 71xx-series XD40s have additional speaker grills on both sides of the body for possible turn warning announcement activation.
Edit: spotted ENY XD40 7113 on the B82 with additional speaker grills
There are a few of the 71xx's with the announcements already working. They have it saying
"Caution bus turning" about three times.

I see that only 3 were reported, don't know why.
actually from what I heard, they were supposed to been sentover the weekend so they would be there for the new pick. But then again it is the MTA, so things change often and/or whenever they want.0 -
UP were supposed to send four of the 49xx buses out, over the weekend

9584 & 9585 from FP to UP
And 2422 is also at UP

7177 and 7179 are at Ulmer Park
Seen them inside the depot getting the fairbox done
but neither one of them had any stickers on them yet
this was around 12pm today

UP isn't bad I understand they don't get the best buses but look at the 5000's they've had for a while now compared to FB 5000's. Most senior operators at UP prefer the Rts. It seems like UP is where most Rts will go before they retire or head to MTA Bus.
Most of the senior operators don't want the RTS's (unless there're hoping to back down, to make OT..lol)
They either work the express or they look to get the XD's buses, but with only 40 or so of those buses
at UP. And as for the 5000's, again UP got them after they were used and abused by the other depots.
The XD's are/were the first (local) new buses they got in a longggggg time.

The rts at UP do not get a break once a trip is over & they pull in another operator pulls out with that bus in the next 5-10 mins due to buses OOS. Ulmer park maintenance is not up to par. The 9600s they got from flatbush about 2 years ago were in solid condition now look at them. UP isn't even a high mileage depot.
That's true the buses come in and go right out.And yes UP is considered a low mileage depot. But the maintenance does the best it can with what they have. The 9600's they got from Flatbush where good, but not really solid. And all the buses they are getting now from other depots, comeit with some kind of problem. No depot sends another depot theregood buses, they send them there crappy buses to other depotsand keeps the good buses in there own depot. That's why UP maintenance looks crappy and the otherdepots look like they have greatest maintenance.0 -
Loaners i'm guessing due to shortage of buses that Ulmer Park has. That depot has questional maintenance practices if you ask me
Ulmer Park maintenance is not questionable....They are doing there best that they can with all the piecesof crap that they are getting. The work bays are fullwith the buses that being worked on.0 -
Not sure if it was said but 9447 is at UP.It was out on the B6 this morning and it still had GA stickers on it.0

Thank you for correcting me, the bosses at UP, felt there was something wrong with what I said.
It's been said many of times that the UP union didn't want new buses. That might have been true years back, when there was different union bossesin there. But now the guys that are there have been fightingto get the new buses.0 -
Ulmer Park is going to be the only Brooklyn depot that's getting a piece of the Nova LFS order which is the first batch as mentioned earlier.
That's good to hear. They definitely need new buses. So if they get the Nova's will they lose the XD40's?Or I'd guess no one really knows yet what will be leaving yet.0 -
Flatbush, ugh... Ulmer Park got screwed - then again they might be happy with that. So UP must be keeping/receiving a bulk of RTS's - which is probably a union decision lol (new bus haters).
Grand receives a new fleet again? That's good I guess.
And now I know why Fresh Pond has been sending some of their NG's to SI, besides shortages.
Other news: roster is updated: https://sites.google.com/site/mtanyctrosters/mtaregionalbusroster
The union at Ulmer Park doesn't hate new buses. It's the upper bosses that don't like Ulmer Park. The bosses use the excuse that Ulmer Parkis a "low mileage" depot. The union has been fighting to get newer buses at Ulmer Parksince the last new bus order.1 -
So I was browsing through my Instagram this morning and one of my friends from high school posted this:
Don't know the exact location or route.
From this picture, I would have thought the Camry tried to outrun the bus while making the turn but it looks as if it was trying to go straight? Either way...never play chicken with a bus.
The accident happened at Remsen and Flatlands Ave.The car came out the TD bank parking lot.Don't know how or why it happened1 -
Wow..Thats crazy..Is the B/O ok...Was there any Passengers on that bus?
The driver is ok and there were NO passengers on the bus.
The bus was heading back to Ulmer Park depot and was cut
off by a car who didn't know where they were going.
The car cut a cross a few lanes to get to the left side/belt parkway.

5182 FB - UP just caught it on the 36.
There loaners from FB. It seemed UP was short
on buses today and they had to get some from FB.
I heard they were getting or got about 10 buses to use.

Does anyone where the B5, old 47, 50 and old 62 operated from prior to being merged in the mid '90s? In terms of depot.
The B5 was out of UPB50 was out of ENYB47 if remember correctly was out of FB0 -
This is why we can't have nice things. Ugh.
Yea that's what I thought also. But I'm sure the TA will clean it
sooner or later, but to bad it will keep happening.

I know guys that are Bus Operator‘s and they always tell the new guys don’t do the overtime. You are on probation for a year and if something happens on the road the transit will turn around and blame you. And they will try to fire you. When you get off probation then do all the overtime you can if that’s what you want to do. Save your job now and make the money later.
