  1. You have to go to Centre street in Manhattan and restore it. They will give You a receipt 🧾 and send a letter in the mail. Go there in person. That is the best way to know everything wemt through. 1 Centre Street. 21st floor.

The list is over ? I just reinstated my name will they call me or just go start on the next list

This list doesn't expire until the year 2020. The way the poster worded it made it sound like the list would terminate on the date they are supposed to report.

    My list # is: 4***

Contact DCAS ASAP. I did last week because I missed my letter. I moved and never received it. Do You need the number? You'll have to go to the building and reinstate Yourself.....

  4. Congrats to all those who have passed and good luck on your line training. Please keep all that the trainers have told you in mind. It’s easy to get too comfy and lose site of things. I’m one who likes to go by the book. Best wishes to all, once again. Always remember, SAFETY FIRST!!!

  5. I'm getting a little more comfortable but the instructor is such a jerk and doesn't know how to talk to us. There's one guy on my bus who already has his CDL and thinks he's a know it all. The instructor keeps ripping him to shreds on purpose lol. He used to drive for Jersey Transit but this is not Jersey, this is MTA. He doesn't get that and I think they probably won't pass him because he's a know it all and argumentative. As far as me.....I'm doing better with my turns, securing the bus and protecting the back. I'm driving in the city so it's not as easy because it's a lot more congested than the other boroughs. I have to remember to call out my hazards, pre trip and Aslaps. They literally want you to call out everything. If you see an ant crossing in the middle of the street, you better call that out or else you're getting yelled at smh.

This guy needs to chill. I worked for NJ Transit, too, and I still learned a lot, even after my few years of experience operating a bus. With (MTA), you have to do things a little different. I see quite a few operators making turns rather quickly. I turn slow. I don't care who is behind me. I want to make sure not a thing is around my bus when I execute my turns. I hope he realized that, even with his experience, he has much to learn, also. The mirror set up at NJ Transit is not the same as at (MTA).

  6. @youngnycsubwayfan. When filling out the pre-employment package, and asked about employment history, how far do they go back? I have owned a barber shop for 13 yrs. is that all I'm going to have to put down?

I have been through the process, already and I had to go back 10 years.

  7. Any news on 4600? Around December and January is the estimated time we were suppose to hear back.

This is pretty bad. We took the exam more than 2 years ago, and with still no results or any notice. There are going ti be alot of angry people who waited for 2 years only to be given a bad test result/list number.

The (MTA) will send notice, before your results come in, if you passed the BOSS or not. I am on that list, also, but I took the MaBSTOA test that same year. I think they are still on the TA 2613 list.

  8. Hello All,

I'm moving out soon and i would like to update my new address to MTA.

is it something i can just call? or email?

    Thanks.

There is usually a form on the website that they will tell you to print and fill out. I think it is on the page that displays all the tests that will be availed to applicants by a certain date, but you scroll all the way down to the bottom and there is a link.

  9. Has anyone called 212-669-1357 (DCAS exams info) and tried putting in your ss# and the exam #4600 if you took it? I did and it says there is no record of my ss# with the exam. I ask because when I was talking to someone at MTA before I got called for 3101, I mentioned 4600, and they said they didn't see anything for me. Trying to figure out if they lost my exam or because nothing has been established, it's showing nothing. May transfer to TA in the future to get to Staten Island, so just wondering what's up. Thanks.

DCAS does not administer (MTA) tests anymore. You to call (MTA) directly.

  10. I haven't received my score yet but based on the answer key and the paper they provided for us to mark the answers on, I received a 97%. I see a few different thoughts on when Exam 2600 takers might start getting called. Do you think a 97% will be on top of the list? I don't know how many people score over 95 on these exams.  Should I get my permit now or wait a little bit longer?

    thanks.

I think that your best bet is to get your permit and get a job as a school bus driver or any bus company that is willing to train you in the mean time. It will get you the experience you need in a large vehicle. It won't hurt and it will keep you current and fresh. I just advise you do not get too comfy in skill. Always remain humble and remember what the trainer told you when you learned how to operate the vehicle and everything will be fine. I hope this is helpful. Be safe and keep a positive mind!!!

  11. I agree, however I finished with my college studies on December 18th, took the second drug test the next day and got called for medical on December 31st, so in a way I didn't have time...I also didn't know that it was going to take close to a month to get the medical hold cleared since I couldn't get an appointment ASAP with the neurologist...

Oh well. I'm just glad I took the other exams (3600 for trackworker, 3101 for OA and 4600 for TA)...we shall see what happens.

You don't have to wait five years, do you?

  12. We should get some action by mid 2015

For 4600 hopefully we should be getting list # by early 2016. My opinion from how other exams have performed. Also heard from 2 friends who failed boss exam taken in Nov 2013 believe it was for exam 3101 not 100% Can anyone confirm if boss exam for Nov was for 3101

    BOSS was in Nov 2013

  13. Experience is always a good thing in any occupation. Every major transportation company provide training according to there policy and state laws. Not everyone will learn to operate a transit vehicle in the time alloted by MTA and according to there standard, however with that being said its not impossible its just my strong opinion that getting train before TA is a plus.

And very, very helpful. Learning the anatomy of the bus is a major things with all bus companies. The more time you have doing it, the better off. I encourage all permit holders to get practice!!!!

  14. Just wanted to throw some pointers out there. Chances are MTA is expecting you already know how to drive a big commercial vehicle. Its not drivers Ed when they hire you, its more like Im show you how to operate our bus safest way without causing any harm and damage. Most people are great learning the first time VS a person who doesnt have a clue how to operate an air brake vehicle. Kudos to those who doesnt need that much practice. Also not every trainee instructor are the same. I know two off top from MTA that are butts and will challenge you on day 7. If you dont have a lack of experience handling a commercial air brake vehicle, it doesnt hurt to practice and pay some lessons or get your license before mta helps you. The bad habits are usually folks who works for other commercial company for years (which of course you deliver bad habit driving skills) even some Bus operator in mta drives illegally when they behind the mta buses.Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

I couldn't agree with you more. It may take longer than expected to hear from (MTA). The best way to get you license beforehand, is to let a school bus company train you. Nothing to lose. Like Mark said, sometimes you lose a lot being cheap.
