CenSin Posted March 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 25, 2010 I'm collecting a bit of statistical data on the game of Rock Paper Scissors. If you've got a few minutes, please answer the following questions as best as possible. All of them require answers in percentages (0% to 100%). Please include your gender (male, female, shemale, …), approximate age, and the arm you're using (left arm or right arm) to play the game. In the opening game (all combined must add up to 100%) how likely are you to use: …rock? …scissors? …paper? How likely are you to use the same move again in the second game …if the first game was a draw? …was a loss? …was a win? How likely are you to use the same move again in the third game …if the first game was a draw? …was a loss? …was a win? I must warn you: they're repetitive questions, so read carefully. Thanks, people! Example: Age 21, Male, Right Arm In the opening game (all 3 combined must add up to 100%) how likely are you to use: …rock? 50% …scissors? 25% …paper? 25% How likely are you to use the same move again in the second game …if the first game was a draw? 50% …was a loss? 50% …was a win? 50% How likely are you to use a different move in the third game …if the first game was a draw? 65% …was a loss? 75% …was a win? 95%
Joe Posted March 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 25, 2010 I don't know how thorough you're aiming to be with this statistical endeavor but be sure to be mindful of selection bias.
CenSin Posted March 25, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted March 25, 2010 I don't know how thorough you're aiming to be with this statistical endeavor but be sure to be mindful of selection bias. I get a lot of conflicting research from other sources, so I'm going to redo another set of data. Some say rock is favored and others say scissors or paper.
