Terrific performer, but unlike real athletes Tiger's just putting around

Today's topic, lovers of sports, ages 8 to 9, has to do with finding the greatest athlete in the world, horses and designated hitters not included. But first a story from the files.

 

When I was in Kuala Lumpur to cover Muhammad Ali's title fight against Joe Bugner - the dull 15-rounder began at noon, and for all I know, is still going on, and a serious punch may have finally landed - I met the local sports writers.

 

One of them, a hard worker named George Das, sent me Christmas cards for the next 10 years. He once asked me if I'd ever met Dr. Something Somebody (not his real name). Never met him and never heard of him, I admitted. George was very close to shocked.

Tiger Woods is probably the greatest golfer ever, but I agree with this article completely. Greatest Athlete in the World, that should go to a real athelete.
