hunterforhire Posted January 16, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2011 I noticed in some stations like the 14th St and 7th avenue station for example, there clearly is an old faded thick line on the platform about a foot back from where the current yellow line, which is right up against where the car pulls in. Anyone know if the faded thick lines at stations like this were actually the original "stand behind" lines that were moved up to where they presently are? If so, why did they do this? I am guessing for platform overcrowding? But I can't help but think it would have been safer to keep the original line (if that is what the thicker further-back line was orignally for). Anyone with info re the history of that older faded line at the stations like 14th St and 7th?
