Monday, July 4th, Extra Service:

On Monday, July 4, Independence Day, the Port Jervis Line will operate on a normal Sunday/holiday schedule with an additional inbound train to provide additional service for the heavy holiday weekend go-home crowd on Monday afternoon.

The extra train, which is not shown in the printed timetables, but is reflected in the NJ Transit online trip planner (at http://www.njtransit.com) will depart from Port Jervis at 4:07 p.m., making all stops to Suffern, then Secaucus, arriving Hoboken at 6:25 p.m. and New York, Pennsylvania Station at 6:36 p.m. via a connection at Secaucus.

The only other change on the Port Jervis line on July 4 is the regular 9:30 p.m. departure from Hoboken to Port Jervis. It will depart at 10:00 p.m. (arriving at all Port Jervis Line stations 30 minutes later than the normal times) to allow spectators of the Macy's fireworks show time to see the show from the Hoboken waterfront and not have to wait for the 12:40 a.m. train to go home. The departure time from New York, Pennsylvania Station is unchanged - 9:14 p.m.

On the Pascack Valley Line, normal weekend service will be operated on July 4 with one possible exception. Depending upon ridership and weather, the 9:22 p.m. departure from Hoboken to Spring Valley may be slightly delayed to give fireworks spectators time to see the show and get to the train.
