Jamaica Line Posted August 7, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2013 The other day when walking along the Lower Montauk Branch in Forest Park, I was able to catch a NY & Atlantic Railway freight train of about 16 cars. It stopped short of the Jackie Robinson Pkwy overpass and stayed there for at least an hour (the engineer even killed time by reading some novel he had). Thou thing is, the train wasn't even stopped near a signal, the next signal would've been past a blind curve maybe about a quarter to less than half a mile from where the train was stopped.. Which leaves me to question... Why? Btw, does anyone have an idea as to maybe the best days to catch another one of hese trains rolling through there? Wasn't really expecting to catch one... Ntm photos aren't too good at giving you an impression of how huge these things are, you gotta see them in person... Freakin' huge...
