Fan Railer Posted August 23, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2013 Beginning development on the ACS-64 for OpenBVE, slowly but surely. Going to be using the exterior for the Amtrak ALP-46 for the time being. First order of business is installing that new "3rd Generation" K5LA: Although the ACS-64 for OpenBVE will not be available for some time, you can download the 3rd Generation K5LA pack separately here (also comes with Graham White E-Bell): http://www.mediafire.com/download/r9sc88czmgd3496/3rd_Generation_Nathan_K5LA_Horn_and_E-Bell_Pack.rar The Amtrak ALP-46 seen here can be downloaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/y4qi4lfeereehq8/Amtrak_ALP-46_Expansion_Pack_V1.0.rar The route used here is the Networks West Midlands route: http://www.trainsimstuff.org/network-west-midlands You can now replace the existing horn sounds in whichever trains you wish with the new K5LA sounds here. Enjoy =)
Fan Railer Posted November 14, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted November 14, 2013 ^Here is the preliminary version of the ACS-64 Traction Motor sounds for OpenBVE. Since no ACS-64 body exists yet, I am using the ALP-46 body as a placeholder. To watch the video that showcases my developing these motor sounds from start to "finish", proceed here:
Fan Railer Posted November 16, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted November 16, 2013 Some tweaks in V1.0b, including volume adjustment, and raising maximum pitch at high speeds, providing for a more seamless motor whine. Consist is an 8 car Northeast Regional train. Acceleration on full throttle from 0 to 125 mph is shy under 3 minutes.
