1995 Orion V CNG Posted November 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 24, 2014 Just read on another site that WMATA is going to head back over to New Flyer once they are done receiving the 8000s Nabi BRT 42 hybrids. Apparently, they are also going to receive about 20 or so XDE60 Xcelsior artics as well to replace their 2002 Neoplan AN460 artics and XN40s to replace their C40LFs and Orion V diesels. I just knew this was going to happen since Nabi is going out of business next year. Reminds me of Orion's closure nearly 2 years ago.

It was sold to New Flyer who will discontinue the current NABI line once all current orders are finish in late 2015/early 2016. New Flyer has been in talks with current NABI contract clients about switching current orders to Xcelsior as New Flyer is converting the NABI plant to build/assemble Xcelsiors. 105 units in all are expected. They would need more then 105 if they are replacing all of the V's and C40LF's
