So if (MTA) is right that there's no money left, and they're cutting back on services - longer headways on trains, for example - why are they still building out CBTC to run more trains (since they don't have the money to operate the current amount of trains)?

MTA is nothing but a scam, politicians give high paying jobs to friends and family that have zero clue at all about running a transit system.

OTB made a profit until the state took over and then began to lose money. End result is OTB became the first bookie in world history to lose money.

The NYTA gets about 1 billion bucks a week just from subway fares and loses money? Where does the money go?
