fx20736 Posted March 3, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2009 For those interested here are some links on the CTA: http://www.transitchicago.com/ This is the official site with routes, maps, timetables, etc: http://www.chicago-l.org/index.html This site is somewhat similiar to the nycsubway.org (perhaps one of my favorite websites) site in intent. It has decent information on the system, rolling stock, history, etc. and has plenty of links to other sites. finally , like the Redbirds the CTA has an iconic piece of rolling stock, the 6000 Series of cars, built by The St.Louis Car Company (makers of the Redbirds, R40's and the PCC Streetcars, to mention a few creations.) The 6000 Series began revenue operation in 1950 and they remained in service until the early 1990's so for those of you who never had a chance here is what they looked like.
