TheNewYorkElevated Posted September 20, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2015 I have a few questions to ask about this, just to make sure... 1. Can I take non commercial filming on the LIRR? (I know there is no ban on photography) 2. I'm not using the system for travel. Can I still railfan though? 3. It is okay to do a RFW (railfan window) on the LIRR? nostalgia Posted October 3, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 3, 2015 1) I don't know about commercial filming. 2) You don't owe anybody an explanation why you're traveling. As long as you have a ticket, nobody will bother you. (I've railfanned the LIRR without any problem.) 3) The RFW is gone. The engineer sits in a compartment like the subway that has a door behind him. The door has a small window to look through.
