There trying do away with signing onto the radio also. When ya sign in on the clever device it signs ya into everything. So far hamilton is the only garage that has that option. Itll make life much easier. PIA signing into 3 devices.
They told us that that specific feature wouldve been installed since the end of last summer for everyone. I still miss the lil number that displayed how late, on time, or early we were

DO not always put what you think they want to hear keep a consistant honest (but not to a fault) answering if ppl always put what they want to hear ppl could end up saying they agree that they NEVER get angry and dont over think the questions just aswer them at face value

MaBstoa exam 4105 bus operator is coming out in this June . Is anyone going to take it?
Maybe.
If for some reason I can't do 4600, i'm seriously thinking about NJ Transit, they are working without a contract so maybe some new goodies will come through..
They are up to 500's on 2613. FYI.
If you do nj transit go to rail bus operator isn't worth the hassle out here

This is kind of getting out of hand wasn't 3101 filing just last year? And the way they make the list for OA and BC is too lazy

Young u better hope u pass with that permit with no type of experience .okay u depending on the mta gud luck.homie
I don't see why he can't hundreds of drivers done it before and there are drivers that came in with their CDL and couldn't pass the 7-10 so it'll always come down to the individual

I don't feel it's being cheap not getting cdl before training a lot of driving schools ask 200 - 600 dollars a lesson that's only a hour at best not to mention the fee to rent the bus for the road test most ppl just don't have that type of cash to put down just like that I didn't when I got into nj transit now I'm a commercial driver 5 years now

If it's for the BOSS and it's not free don't go to it I assure you you do NOT need to study for the BOSS Sent from my iPad using TapatalkThanks he's charging 40 for the class what's on it
Example "how would you friends describe you a) high strung b) mild mannered c) reclusive" etc or "you never lose your temper agree disagree" things along these lines there is no math science maps to read just be honest but not painfully so

You build bad habits when you take your mind off off the big picture. The experience helps, just don't get arrogant. I still humble myself.
Arrogance doesnt lead to bad habits behind the wheel its due to comfort of being behind the wheel. Unless you've just started driving its kind of hard to believe that when in your personal vehicle your hands are always at 10 and 2 and your checking your mirror even on one way single lane streets every 3-5 seconds and pushing and pulling on all turns I know I dont those are all bad habits by definition and you could do that and completely be unaware of it
Your idea isnt bad I'm just saying in my opinion just be weary of it you never know when the mta will get back to you

I think the best thing to do, for everyone who has no bus operating experience, is get a temporary school bus job until you get called. It will help build your school, so that when you get to , you understand the anatomy of a bus.
Double edged sword that is yeah you will get past the initial fear, lack of comfort of driving a large vehicle but you then can end up building bad habits and exposing your license and driving record needlessly to danger

Does anyone else feel let down by this test? I spent sooo much time preparing, practicing headway & running time concepts.. memorizing addresses of POI's, bridges, landmarks, rules of the road.. etc. Countless hours, taking the prep class, studying the books.. and they didnt have a single question on any of that stuff.. Just situational, common sense scenarios that almost everyone could answer. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have found the test easy but, it seemed too easy to effectively weed out the masses that didn't prepare for it.. For all my efforts, I really expected a better test of my working knowledge of the subject matter.. I guess I'm just venting.. I understand that NYCTA feared having the 87% fail rate of the previous exam again and not having a decent pool of passing candidates to make it thru the next 4 years. I'd expect they'll be calling only those who scored 100% or very close to it, any time soon. I'm sure they'll be thousands who did..
Not really the opinion of most on here is that this test was made quite easy because over 27000 ppl failed the 1 they gave in January and they're hurting or at least soon to be hurting for operators

Thanks for the info, does that if you get called it could be for the other boros besides Staten Island and Brooklyn?
TA the section of bus op 4600 is for allows you to choose to work in any boro assuming they don't have shortage in a boro typically Staten Island or queens

Also did anyone notice that they said the proposed answers will be up next month by the 27th way faster than 2613 even before they had the retesting...Also I didn't find the map that difficult to read the 8094 test now that map was abysmal

I am going to day 10,driving so good on day 9,then bam I hit the curb on a right turn.
Sorry to hear that man but best of luck to you. I wish there were some advice I could share but I have no clue how they teach and what theyll allow on the road

While their training most likely differs in numerous ways nj transit taught me to shoulder the corner meaning pull up until the corner is even with my shoulder then begin your turn and if there is a car parked on the corner to shoulder the street side of the car so far it has never failed me on tho there are always those streets where you gotta steal a lil of your left to make it p.s. just want to make it clear Im just sharing how I was taught reference points plz do not take it as how to make your right turn

Did you mean the CNGs? They have Aesys LED signs.
I do not know the different type of signs by name only by the the type of bus I see them on....I dont know from which garage they came from im told theyre from coach usa but ironbound now has buses numbered between 8519 (which is currently on a mechanic lift im walking by it as I type this) and 8523 (all 40 ft diesels) all now possess led signage whatever make the nabi use
