Damn, 7877-7887 looks like a little baby sitting next to all those R160s and R68s. Looks like a toy from the Belt Pkwy.
try to take a picture of it, I like to see it.

Looks like the will be all R188s today. Smart move considering the R62As don't have "74th St-Broadway on the roll signs. Also saw 7233 at Main St today. Looks like they have solved the issue with the R142A conversion set
what do you mean 7233, did you really mean 7833

If the converted sets have problems like 7211-7220+7899, what do you think would happen.
Maybe, this would be ranked as one of the worst lemons, like the R44/46 fiascos.
I hope it doesn't happen, the MTA invested millions of dollars to convert those existing sets.

any news on the 7th set 7877-7887 in service or the last set 7888-7898 been delivered.

My sources are credible like I said before... Your a foamer... Therefore you run off opinions and NOT facts so unless you KNOW actually RTO supervisor you need NOT to speak disrespectfully
There's NO need for it... My source happens to be RTO who speaks with supervisors who KNOW what's going on...
I DONT post anything that's NOT factual !!!!!
I don't need to be rude but check your sentences, "Your a foamer " is spell "you're a forumer", "... actually RTO supervisor.." is "... an actual RTO supervisor, make sure check before posting.

How many converted R142A's are at Corona?
Still one converted R142A set at Corona

So basically, the CBTC contractor is installing the wiring and components at the Corona Yard or the 207th Street Yard
Also, I don't know anything about telecommunications but wiring installations I can cope with that; I suggest that the cars 7211-7220's wiring has to be reoganized for the CBTC and its a long process and might not see service until for 2-3 months.

7211-7220 with 7899 taking too long with the repairs and a second converted set is on standby, anyone knows if the R142A converted set is scheduled to be in service. On the other hand, the Corona yard is borrowing sets from the 1 train to not cause a shortage and the 240 Street yard is also borrowing set from the 3 train, there is irony in this process.

The strip map on the R62A is identical to the strip map on the R142A minus the LEDs.

Wait is the R188 second set on 30 day test also?

on Youtube there is a video of the R188 7822-7832 in service but can't see the numbers to verify

As a daily reader, I've caught the R62A a couple times. Personally, I don't mind it that much. The A/C is fine, they're extremely clean and if you ask me, they're just as reliable as the R142As. The only thing I really ask the to do is to replace the lights... compared to the R142A, the R62A lights are extremely dim.
Actually, the diffuser needs to be replace not the lights. Diffuser is a plastic cover use for fluorescent light fixtures. Also some of the R62A on the 7 train has their diffusers replace at some parts of the car and made it little bit more brighter.

Well the the R188 train set is working fine, no problems yet, anyone thinks that problems will not occur till it goes in its second week of full revenue service after the 30 day test.

Things have slowed to a crawl because they ran out of keys and the keys are on back order.
keys! Shouldn't the same keys work when the R142A went its conversion, I understand the new sets, but back order! they should of order the keys ahead of time especially when the newer sets was confirm to be eligible to run after its 30 day test trial on the test tracks of the NYC subway system.

An r188 just blew by Queensboro Plaza
Was it on service or testing, also which set was it?

I notice that Car# 7899 windows are more tinted than the other cars, is the MTA going to replace the current windows to new tinted ones, or that's my opinion.

I knew it was the Rockaway test track that cause the delays to the delivery of the R188 to revenue service, those who responded negatively about the Rockaway test track that I mention before there is proof.

Is the set 7216-7220/7899 being transported to the corona yard or still being tested.
0 -
The set was briefly at E 180 St yard then at CIY for burn-in testing.
Anyways, from a friend who works out of Corona Yard:
When was this picture taken, it can't be recently.

Isn't the testing taking longer because the Rockaways tracks for testing cbctc was damaged due to sandy?
I already said that and will get the same response as me.

The R188 testing period is not ending anytime soon, maybe wanted to make sure that the train may run smoothly with no problems making another lemon-like situtation similar to the R46 and ready for CBTC in 2016
Everyone (if you have the time) go to the Dyre Ave. Line and check if the testing is on-going or getting ready for the move towards the Flushing Line.

this is a guess, probably 7211-7215 is in the maintenance building on E180 street or 207 street

I just came back from the Bronx to see if the R188 7811-7821 is at the yard or not, I think that set was probably doing last minute testing before being sent to the Corona Yard. Maybe they are doing the transfer in the weekend or the following weeks at late night hours.

My question is.With the R142A being converted at 207th st,will the Put a rebuilder plate to replace Kawasaki`s,like they did back during the GOH (1985-1992)?
The builder plate is going to be the same since Kawasaki is doing the conversion, also the rebuilder plate only applies to the companies that when bankrupt and doesn't supplies the parts for the trains.
Anyone are on the lookout for the R188 being transported to Corona in the late night hours since May is near.
