  1. Blood work less than 6 months old and a letter from your doctor that you are fit to be a bus driver Thanks and i said no...
  2. He got into the Nov. 4th class...was sworn in today
  3. Husband went down for medical today...was put on hold due to diabetes and wanting a copy of stress test. He got the papers filed out by the doctors and copies of tests requested within the correct dates (labs no more than 6 months). What is the process for going back with info? Do you start from the beginning (eye, ear test, etc.) or go right to medical for the mta docs to review test results and then go forward from there.
  4. My list number is 163x...I was called back in March to take boss exam for b/o position then drug tested in May and June then medical and hired in July for the July 15th class...I just hit my 3 month Mark as a bus operator and yesterday I got a letter to report next week for drug test for conductors position Congratulations..welcome to the family lol
  5. Just got a letter to do pre employment for the conductors position...don't they know I have been a b/o for 3 months already lol
  6. That's strange they did a pre road test day for us in the July 15th class
  7. Hubby finally got his letter to go down for drug test this coming Thursday...hopefully the process won't be too much longer to get him sworn in and in training
  8. everything moving forward is at Zerega...you will do RTS training day 8, 9 & 10...easy days. I went to S.I. to do line training right after the 2 HR days. They pulled me out of line training to go to do a pre-road day at zerega and then again road test at zerega. My husband has not started any pre employment yet...he is still waiting for the letter to go for drug test. I got my first pay check on 8/1 (I started 7/15) so right after your first 2 weeks you should get paid. did you actually choose your depot yet officially (I think they do that on one of the HR Days). My class didn't choose - we were supposed to but since we were all forced to staten island they just sent us all to staten island the next day (Day 15). staten island does things a little differently then the other boroughs. In Staten Island we go to all the depots to learn all the local lines. Our line training was a month long then another week of express training on the MCI buses and new prevost buses with bklyn battery tunnel training and jersey (lincoln tunnel training) THEN after all that we were able to pick our depots (or be placed depending on seniority).
  9. Yes, I took my road test in Aug. while I was in Line Training. (that will start for you in 6 days - people still have to finish day 8, 9, 10 and then you will have 2 HR days, after that line training starts) I finished all my line training and express training the first week of Sept. Our class graduated on Aug. 28th. We picked out depots while in express training and started on our own on Sept. 8th I have been working like crazy - I am on the extra list at Castleton. I am a PM report which means I report any time between 2pm - 5pm. Any questions you have just send them on over...I will try to answer you right away. What borough/depot are you hoping to get in?
  10. that would be great if they would call him soon - he hasn't even done his first drug test yet - he's still waiting for that letter - He only took the BOSS survey. Hopefully with you going for your 3rd drug test means that they are starting the hiring process again. In the meantime, my husband has applied to take the next Bus Operator exam #4600 - just to be sure he's not missing an opportunity to get a job
  11. I heard the same thing...my husband is 433x on the list and took the BOSS survey on june 12. He has been waiting for the letter to go for drug test but hasn't gotten anything so when he called on friday was told that they stopped hiring right now.
  12. i started my line training out of Castleton in S.I. although tomorrow (monday 8/5) i am going for my pre-road training
  13. I am one of the people who went to staten island but in my case I went there willingly...put the transfer in for S.I. on day 1 (orientation) so when we found out we were going, I was THRILLED!! to say the least - 25 of us went in total...only 5 of us wanted to be there. Who's your friend? And was he in the 7/15 class? my husband is 433x - he took the BOSS survey June 12th - he is just waiting for them to call him for the drug test and get the process rolling. I hope they are going to exhaust exam 8094 and all those that took the survey to become B/o so he has a shot of getting in.
  14. OH, I WILL...i was one of the 5 who WANTED Staten Island lol hanks so much! did you do drug test already? what exam are you coming off of and your list #?
  15. Just paper work and then they will assign you to a depot and Superintendent for training.
  16. thank you so much for all your support and info you have given us. It came in handy for me - and I look forward to meeting you on the lines in the near future !! good luck to you - hope you get called soon from what my instructor told me - not too long a few days mixed with HR day (filling out paper work ) and then the pick for our class to where we go to do our line training and work - that is done by senority based on list number from test - then we get a new seinority number from the depot when we get there and if we transfer depots after that we lose the seniority as far as picking runs and vacays go but of course not job time thanks for the congrats..dmv road test can be as early as a week or as much as 4 weeks = don't bother with lessons on the outside - the mta trains you well enough as far as driving is concerned - it's up to you to remember the walk around , pre trip inspections, air brakes test and the wrap around in the driver seat also to remember all the shit you have to call out Listen to the instructor and study all the info they give you - WRITE SHIT DOWN - take notes get out of your head - nerves will ruin you - just LISTEN and STUDY and TAKE NOTES i came off of exam number 8094 which was a conductor's test back in 2008
  17. that's exactly how I feel...who qualified you? (which instructor) I trained with castaldo, but I qualified with fallon
  18. Good luck Lawkev, I believe that on day 10 you will go out driving with 2 instructors on your bus. I don't know what they are looking for though. Just don't hit a curb, run a yellow/red light and don't make any wide turns, you should be ok.
  19. From what I understand, after you pass training on day 7 or 9, you have 2 chances for the road test. If you should go to day 10 then you only have one chance. After "qualifying" on day 7, 9 or 10, you go back to Zerega for what they call RTS training (which is just the older bus) for a few days. Then you have a pick where your class mates pick what depots they are going to and then when you go to that depot, you start your line training. Line training is learning all the lines the bus depots service. While you are doing your 4 weeks of line training, Zerega sets up the road test for you. You are pulled off of line training for the day before your road test date and you report back to zerega to do road test training and then report to zerega the next day for your road test. The Dmv does the road test out there - I am not sure if it's only for MTA or that's just their site for the bronx. So basically your road test could be at any point during the four weeks from qualifying to finishing line training.
  20. I trained out of Kingsbridge in the Bronx and my instructor for day 1 thru 7 was Castaldo. Day 8 and Day 9 I had Fallon and I met her at Casey Stengel in Queens by Mets Stadium (Citi field)
  21. good luck - you'll get it Yes, I was on the conductors list Exam # 8094 - took the test back in dec. 2008 - the MTA sent me a letter re: b/o in march 2013 and I qualified for bus operator training today!! My list number was 163x
  22. I qualified today thank god. Have ti be at zerega 9am mon...only one from my group qualified day 7, us three today. How did everyone else do?
