  1. Good luck with that letter working. The transit doctors will scrutinize everything. When I was going through all of this, I had letters from my doctors saying everything was all good. But transit wants data. They leave no stone unturned. I had to go through multiple procedures and show cpap data (data that’s dated and showing how many apneas you are averaging per night with I think a 6 hour average usage per night) for either 30 or 90 days. I can’t remember. But a letter from your doctor saying it’s all good and it’s benefiting you isn’t going to work. I had to jump through hoops for those transit doctors to get this job. Worth it tho. Good luck.
  2. I think you’re looking at top pay. If you start now, conductor pays $23.67 per hour. You'll get a raise every year and top out starting on your 6th year. You’ll also have contractual increases as well. It has nothing to do with when you paid for the exam.
  3. Wow. I asked the people who took the measurements and they said about a month, but something told me that was BS.
  4. If you have to use a machine, just a heads up, they are going to want at least 30 continuous days of data printed out when you come in for your medical.
  5. Can anyone who was recently in schoolcar, let us know how long it took to get your uniforms? I know they told us they just switched suppliers. I think it was unipro if I remember correctly.
  6. Yep. I’ve taken it twice now and it’s been about a 48 hour turnaround for the results.
  7. Yep! Thanks! I went in and took the whiz quiz today, and hope to get called back next week for medical again.
  8. I was told I was removed when I came in person to have my medical hold cleared which was dry frustrating as i had to jump through hoops to get the docs they wanted. So I went home empty handed a few weeks ago. I emailed in asking to be cleared and nothing for weeks. I started blowing up every phone number and email I had and didn’t get much feedback. Then a few hours ago, I was invited back in to start over. So hoping to make the next class now that I have been through the drug test and medical process and have all of my clearances now. Should be a breeze. I just logged onto the list and saw my name, but nothing has changed as far as any date or extension next to my name. So I don’t know how one would know if they have been reinstated or not. I’m just guessing that the email for the drug test I just got means I’m back on the list.
  9. And…….medical hold today! Hopefully I’ll be in the next class!
  10. @BreeBree Do you know what they want from you if you have sleep apnea? I was diagnosed with it years ago and used to use a cpap machine, but lost a good amount of weight and I stopped using it because I stopped snoring and now sleep soundly. After taking my drug test, I scheduled an appt with my cpap doctor for next week in case they ask for a note or another study, but I’m unsure what will happen when I tell them I used to use a cpap machine for my sleep apnea.
  11. @BreeBree thanks. I may see you in class. I went in for the drug test on Tuesday and got a call this morning telling me they want to put me in the 5/24 class and to report to Bk tomorrow morning for medical and paperwork. Based on what I read here tho, I feel like I’ll get flagged for BMI on my physical tomorrow which I’m ok with because as of a week ago, I didn’t even see this coming and this is unfolding a bit quicker than I’d like. But if I do pass, then I should see you there! 2,3XX list #
  12. Can anyone tell me where you would start work at everyday? I live in Long Island now and am wondering if it’s practical to commute in for this job. I just got a call and email today about starting on the 24th. This is moving so fast I wasn’t prepared for it.
