Weird, so I definitely got on a n/b Q44-SBS put-in (bus#5992) from Main St/39 Ave around 5:40PM, I saw it make the left turn from Roosevelt onto Main but it doesn't appear on the timetable schedule. Anyone know the reason for this?

Sometimes there are runs that are added to a route that don't appear on the schedule. Happens a lot more than you think especially on the Q44.

I was going to take the SIM22 this week to Outerbridge but looking on google maps, it shows that's permanently closed, so where is the SIM22 going?

    SIM2goes to outerbridge.

SIM22 runs past ETC to (around the S89) eltingville terminal via NJ

Why do the BxM6-10 run along 2nd avenue to 86th Street? This happens very consistently and if they keep on taking this route, why don’t permanently reroute it this way?

That was the original route at one point. Might as well make it permanent since the bus lane is what they use most times.

As you already know, 4556 from East New York is retired. But I noticed that 15 NGs from East New York were last seen in service a while ago, here is their last tracked positions:

    3960 6/20 Q24

    3962 6/23 B83

    3968 6/9 Q24

    4105 6/14 B14

    4113 6/8 Q24

    4134 5/27 B17

    4138 6/7 B45

    4514 6/7 B12

    4524 6/24 B12

    4536 6/9 Q56

    4538 6/16 B25

    4544 6/10 Q56

    4555 6/21 B17

    4583 6/24 Q56

    4588 6/24 B45

Can someone tell me if any of these units are retired? Thank you.

6/24 is most certainly not “a while ago…” Buses don’t run every single day. I’d say anything over a week ago is something worth keeping an eye on (especially that 4134). I’ll keep a close eye on these units for you.

There is something called "buses getting maintenance". That sometimes takes well over a week and that most certainly does not mean they are retired even is it's around their retirement date.

For instance, 4739 from GA has not seen service for at least 2 weeks (and probably longer than that). It has been sitting at Zerega as recently as yesterday.

He said the Williamsburg charger will be replaced...which is the Proterra charger. That means it'll be all New Flyer.

Nobody confirmed what buses are being ordered (XE40/ZX5, the replacement of the BE40). The charger could possibly be an upgrade that could better meet demands for electric use for the MTA.

Yes all buses have teething issues but when over 75% of the batch is breaking down...that's a manufacturer issue.

Considering only about 50 or so buses out of 329 are here and 75% of the current fleet being about 37 buses they have plenty of time to fix the issues.

You better off taking the train. Best bet. (MTA) LIRR to Jamaica. If you want local. (A) express your Howard Beach than air train to T-5. Do not take the bus at all.

The Q10 to Lefferts (A) and the Airtrain station is better if you're not tryna pay too much.

Is the B35 not suppose to be a full articulated route? I saw 2 C40LF's in service on the B35 last week.

You realize nearly every non-SBS route does this on the regular yes?

I was heading home on the M103, when I noticed something completely different on the ViaNova displays on #5919. It had an brand new software update with the coming stops being in either green, or in red when someone requested an stop, or the bus approaches the stop. However, the display itself are still the same. I'm not sure if the other LFS-As out of TU or other depots that were refitted with the ViaNova displays would have this new software update, as on 5914 it didn't have this update.

New software update but the announcements were unchanged?

Any reason why the D4500 CT's are retiring so quickly? I thought they were gonna stick around for a little longer. Are these buses considered lemons?

I know early on during delivery there was problems and the order was reduced from 126 to 59 then to 41.

Of the 18 units sold to NJT I believe one of them had a malfunctioning engine that lead to early retirement.

The MTA did some advertising on buses but I feel most of the general public pays those announcements no mind anyway

The thing about that is there was rarely any advertising before service started and by the time it was actually showed off properly it was weeks after service began. You let people know about things at least weeks in advance in order for things to succeed and of course the MTA knew that. Difference here is they know they can get away with it because not many people really care about a vaccine bus to the point there was enough demand for communities to fight back if the service was discontinued.
