I called for a few hours and ended up speaking to Mrs Chestnut, she said that i should just go down to livingston st. anytime this week. My problem is that a DEC class wouldn't work for me. My coworker has family issues and will be off the whole of DEC so I have to hold the fort down. I've worked at my current job for 12 years and just cannot burn them like that. Does anyone know if you are offered options of class dates? Or would I have to just take myself off until JAN when I can make this move.

Low 1200. I restored myself to the list 2 weeks ago. I never got my letter last year and was removed from the listing due to being a no show. Looks like I'm in the same boat again.

Just got a call from my girl telling me that a letter just arrived (NOV 28) telling me to come in for pre employment on Monday NOV 27th. Been trying to call the number on the letter for about an hour now. Guess I'll have to try and go to Livingston st tomorrow. Does anyone have an idea of the next class dates?

Hi 161 New York, I currently hold a NYC CDL permit. Due to the fact that I have never driven anything larger than a car, I wanted to go try get the CDL license before hand. I was told that you are making it harder for yourself without it. Plus if you pass MTA training and fail the Road test your done.

Hi all, My apologies for all these questions, just wanna get everything covered. I had moved out of state in DEC 2015 and forgot to change my address, I just found out 2 weeks ago that I was called to come in back in OCT 2016 and my listing # was low 1200's. I spoke to Mrs Chestnut and she advised to go down to Center Street and place myself back on the list (Took me like 150 calls to get through to her; however, she was very pleasant and helpful) but I havent been able to get her back to ask additional questions. I just placed myself back on the listing and got my CDL permit. Do you know if you are offered options of training dates or you just have to take what's offered? I really would like to get my full CDL before I go in, plus I have to work out NY living arrangments and give my current job notice. Do you know if there are any training dates in DEC? Any Idea If all goes well how long it takes from being called in to training? I'm kinda hoping for sometime in JAN so I can get things together. Thanks for your time and assistance.

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and was abit confused about the NYC residency requirement. The original application states that ny residency is not required however it also states " Your CDL or motor vehicle license, or any combination thereof, must have been valid in the State of New York for at least three years immediately prior to the date you are appointed to this position" . I've lived in and hold a NY lisence for the past 10 yrs. I just moved to ct this year, I've been paying ny insurance on my car since then because I didn't want to change my lisence over to CT although insurance would be half the price in CT. Can some one please clear this up for me.
