Exactly1896 is the last eligible certified. Not the same as last appointed. That, by DCAS count, is 1031.

And that's not updated correctly on appointed since last one in my class is around 1134... This forum can give better updates then DCAS,for those calling DCAS1896 is the last eligible certified. Not the same as last appointed. That, by DCAS count, is 1031.

If you can't remember at least month and year of employment then you will need to get that SS print out.. You will have to disclose all unemployment not leaving any gaps since H.S. Then the hiring officer will throw out anyhing with 4 or less months unemployed. Don't ask me why..But that's what happened too me...Is it completely necessary to get you work a transcript:$115 if your missing some very short jobs that your going to fill out as times of unemployment.

Guess we might be in the same batch. Keep me posted
Riellou, that list you got for employment history from SS, they printed it on the spot? I asked and the guy was like it'll take 3 months and arrives in the mail.
You have to go to SS office for a print out.... I did it here in CT and got it on the spot for $135

Are you still at 16th & 8th ave...That spot is available on the pick sheet16th and 8th, capital nights. The whole class got X jobs, problem is there were allot of day jobs, both in maintenance and capital. The job I got there was only one spot. There were capital days spots at E180th st in the Bx. Allot of senior guys found out up there, and it started a shit storm. There is a chance the some, or all of the X jobs could go out to bid. I'm hoping that's not the case at least for my spot. There's an even mix of senior guys, and new guys in the gang I'm in, from looking at the pick book. Most of the low seniority number guys, have either the welder/burner spot, or the specialist operator spots.
I'm glad I did get a capital spot though. I've worked in construction most of my life, and the capital environment is more for me.

Went out on the structure today...Boy oh boy! I didn't like it at all.... Waiting along a curve for 2 trains to pass by..walking along the walk was so difficult (Fear of heights) capital construction might not be for me

Yes patience and a very high score... 97.5+ for quicker movement.. Stay in school get a CDL license class B or A... If your looking for PT work..Get a job with a school bus company so that way you can get the license/road teat through the bus company.... All you would need to so is get the CDL permit and the school bus company will handle the rest...Opportunities driving CDL.is where its at if you into driving .... But in the meantime get your degree that also can benefit you down the road in transit should you decide to get into a field within the MTA that requires a degree... Your at the perfect age 21...I have a son your age... Take all the test possible leaving your options open and your changes greater getting in MTA.... Leg your feet in then focus on whatever you want to do later... Good luck too youHey guys, new to the thread. So im thinking of applying for the exam this October and im a young guy (21) looking into what I feel will be the star of my life. I know this will take a lot of patience to finally achieve the position but the MTA was something I was always interested in. I know in myself that i can get this position but it's all about patience. Meanwhile for this whole hoorah I'll be attending college and doing part time work. Also I'm curious to ask how the first step of all this is? Thanks for the feedback if any. T
