  1. Your late... They already found an expansion site for Jamaica Depot... And as far as trying to consolidate BP routes into JA... That's NOT happening buddy so you can get that thought off your mind for the time being

Excuse me. I've been knew about this capital construction involving the Jamaica Depot. I was just only refreshing everyone's mind and was throwing out a factual suggestion because someone else mentioned about JA taking over BP routes. Before you come at me, read the previous comments that were there first.
  2. Sure, plans can change, but as of now I believe the current plans call only for a new depot to accommodate the current Jamaica fleet including sufficient onsite parking space to end the practice of parking buses on surrounding streets.  Any possible consolidation with another depot would require a much larger new Jamaica depot.  At this time there is no capital money allocated for that.

Ah yes, the constant onsite parking along Merrick Blvd, South Rd, and 107 Ave. How could I forget to mention that. Everyday I pass through that depot, buses are parked on the curbs and whenever the buses return back to the depot, there's a long line that stretches out onto Merrick Blvd, whenever it turns right or left onto 107 Ave to enter the bus depot.
  3. The only way depots can be closed is if some new larger depots with expanded capacity are built.  The depot 'taking over' would need to have room for additional operations and management staff, available maintenance, fueling and bus storage space, etc.  Jamaica Depot could not take on Baisley Park's operations because they are crammed with their own operations and have no additional capacity to take on another depot's buses right now.

Isn't the MTA currently working on their project with the Jamaica Bus Depot by demolishing the old depot, looking for a new location, and/or expanding? And if so and IF the merger goes through, maybe they can take BP's routes under their operation or maybe they can't, but only time can tell.

  4. Some things to nota about that schedule......

The (L) has two different fastracks that split the line between Bedford Avenue and Myrtle-Wyckoff, and Myrtle-Wyckoff and the junction. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

The Culver fastrack, wonder how the (G) can even run. I see it being split instead of running express.

The (L) has joined the Fast track bandwagon

Lol. True. About the (G), they should have it terminated at Hoyt-Schemerhorn. I'm sad that they don't have the (F) Fastrack to Jamaica Center. It needs to happen again.
  5. Nope the reason why those Extra (F) Trains ran to 2nd Avenue was due to another G.O in Brooklyn having (F) Trains to Kings Highway only. They always have extra (F) Trains on December Weekends for years. The (E) and (Q) also gets extra service on December weekends during the holiday season.

Ok, I missed out the (F) service outage between Stillwell and Kings Hwy, but what I said before is ABSOLUTELY correct. The (E) and (Q), I can care less about.
  6. Provide the statistics, then I'll believe a word you say, because you never provide any facts other than "LOLITHINKTHEYSHOULDJUSTDOIT". You wanna know why I know they do? Because Rosedale residents have the demand of the service....thats why there are more Q5s to Rosedale than Green Acres....the fact that the Rosedale branch has a limited should be obvious enough, but I guess not.

Also, if November 29th isn't "late November" to you, then I don't know what late November means to you. I have my sources and facts, unlike you smfh....

If you're going to counter my statement, please provide the facts to back them up, and not your meaningless drivel.

Actually I do got facts and it's NO drivel. Apparently you and other people out there would believe ANYTHING you see on the web. Actually there is no demands of service. There are more service to Green Acres than there is to Rosedale, epsically on the weekends on the Q5. I was in Flushing the other day and I asked the bus dispatcher and he told that the launch for the Q44 SBS MIGHT be on November 15th or later because they're still installing fare machines at selected bus stations.

There's nothing between Hook Creek and Macys to justify limited stop service for people going to Green Acres, even more so since they got rid of the multiplex and are planning to expand the mall.

    True, true.
  7. Q44 SBS is said to begin on November 29th. And the stop in question is 38th Avenue.

There's more ridership on the Q5/85 to Rosedale than there is to Green Acres, so no.

Correction: More people go to Green Acres than to Rosedale, so there should be some limited trips to Green Acres, so yes. Q44 SBS is set for either late November or Early December, so don't be jumping on dates.
  8. Ok I've been taking the subway and buses regularly almost everyday since the late spring and have not gotten sick so I think you are just overreacting. However I should judge because that is how you live.

Anyways as for something random related to buses, I noticed SBS boxes are not at Main Street and 39th and that is where the Q44/Q20 relief point is at.

Main St & 39th Av will be an SBS stop. They're still installing off-board fare machines and won't be completed until November or December. Actual date for Q44 +SBS to be announced.

I've been thinking; we should have a Q5/Q85LTD to/from Green Acres.

  9. As you all read my last post, I posted all the routes that were affected in the 2010 cuts. All of them should be restored or at least, modified to meet the demands of people that lived in areas affected by the service cuts. B37 to Court Street. B61 split form the B77. B57 split from the B75. B69 bus off from Flatbush, 7th, and McDonald Avs to Kensington. B49LTD should operate between KCC and Fulton, weekdays from 6am to 10pm.

  10. Please don't blast me, but here's my idea. Let's restore all the routes that were cut, and/or shortened by route or time back in 2010. Even though, some of the service was restored.

    Restore overnight service back to the B31, B39, B45, B64, B65,& (B67 between Kensington & DUMBO)
