Why couldn't LIRR cross honor to at least Flushing Main Street?
Lol @ cross honor for stations BETWEEN Penn and Woodside, there is no stations between Penn and Woodside on LIRR!
whoops typo error. I meant between Woodside station and Penn station.I don't think it's necessary to extend the cross honor to Flushing Main Street because the train is still running to main street. If it wasn't running around there then maybe they would extend the cross honor to Flushing-Main st. For that to happen, it would probably require the whole line to be completely suspended for one weekend.

Oh then that changes it. But on a normal weekend the should never run.
However, I do have an idea. Why doesn't the run via Crosstown, the via 63rd and 6th down to West 4th then normal route and the via the from West 4th to Hoyt?
Not a bad idea, but the thing is, all those train passengers from 179th st cramming the with existing passengers already on that train would be a problem.
But in theory this would be another way of a reroute change.

" buses make all stops between Metropolitan Av and Myrtle Av (Broadway) and run express to/from Delancey St/Essex St in Manhattan."
This is a direct quote from the MTA website, but eariler today when i took said bus, it stopped at all stations until Myrtle Avenue. Serious miscommunication here 🙄

Wait, if the isnt out between Myrtle Av and Broadway Junction, then why is the suspended?
Because of track replacement between metropolitan ave and myrtle ave. J trains are running normal service to Manhattan.
trains will be suspended every weekend from Dec 8 to the last weekend of January because of track replacement and also other critical work that has to be done to prepare for the train shutdown in april. The MTA released a press release on weekend work on the and that is related to the train shutdown.

NYC is not ready for the shutdown, nor will they ever be. There are too many construction projects getting done in the city to try to streamline traffic that is making it a nightmare to get around both in a car and on the subway. I think a re-evaluation of the shutdown should be done, to either cancel the shutdown (restricting work to overnights and weekends), or finding another way to do the reconstruction:
A diamond crossover should have been proposed east of 1 Av to allow the to operate 7.5-minute headway’s into Manhattan (8 tph would be a lot better than 0). Then one tube would be reconstructed at a time. The would run reduced service, but normal service between 8 Av and Canarsie.
the extra subway service proposed would still be provided, and the shuttle buses would not be needed.
Customers east of Myrtle Av would still be encouraged to take the trains. And those past Broadway Junction would be encouraged to take the .
Even at reduced capacity, the is needed.
Yeah I think NYC is also not ready for the shutdown but this is already planned out and finalized already. The MTA really can't cancel the shutdown at this point. New Yorkers would really have to deal with this either way. I know the first few weeks of the shutdown it is going to be crazy but i think after that point, it should be okay for people after adjusting to using alternative service routes for the first couple of weeks to get to their destination.

They could've just ran the in two sections
1. Between Stillwell ave and prospect park as a shuttle
2.Between Stillwell ave and 96th st 2nd ave via the line and line to Lextington ave 63rd st then resume normal service via 2nd ave
Or would it be too much trains on 6th ave
They could of done this instead of suspending it in manhattan.
