  1. He told me rather bluntly that i need to worry more about getting off probation, then worrying about qualifying.
  2. I got yelled at by my conductor because i told him that i started looking at the study material, lol.
  3. Like i said previously: "Don't expect to have a life, don't expect to sleep regularly, make sure you have a reliable source of transportation, and make sure you have a reliable phone. Do what you're told, be where you're supposed to be, and don't complain. That's it, really" Also when you are in class, STUDY!!. You don't want to be the guy who washes out during the book of rules class. Once you get past that, everything else in comparison is much easier.
  4. For those that started last week, how is it?
  5. Rules of the operating department is a fancy way of saying "book of rules". I've been asking around, and supposedly its about 75% of the book that you are responsible for on the test. The rest is done when you qualify as a LE.
  6. Study. Don't stop studying. Honestly if you don't have the extra packet they gave you verbatim yet, get off the forum and start pounding the index cards.
  7. Start putting the stuff they gave you on index cards.
  8. what do you mean about "repeated"? Listen, Don't worry about the little stuff, worry about getting each aspect and indication perfect. The format of the test is self explanatory and will be easy if you studied enough.
  9. Don't expect to have a life, don't expect to sleep regularly, make sure you have a reliable source of transportation, and make sure you have a reliable phone. Do what you're told, be where you're supposed to be, and don't complain. That's it, really.
  10. I graduated a couple of months ago, trust me, you want to pass this test. 100% on aspects, 80% on indications and definitions. Just shoot for 100%, anything else and you will fail.
  11. Be prepared. It's going to be the most mentally challenging month you've ever had. After that, it's nothing compared to the book of rules class
  12. Keep studying those signals and definitions, dont lose em'! You will need to know them verbatim on your first day of training.
  13. I found that it helps if you have a partner to test you. Remember word for word verbatim! As per the budget for next year, they have allocated money for 100 new A/C's so chances are that they will have another.
  14. So phase 1 is the entire book of rules, or is it just like 30% of the book (the A/C book of rules exam)?
  15. Is the content of the phase 1 rules exam the same for conductors and engineers?
  16. So for those that started this month, how is it?
  17. But you're in the pool of candidates, so if they decide to have a third class then your name is probably going to be there. Awesome dude, congrats. As a word to the wise, start studying the signals, definitions AND the other stuff they gave you. Know them verbatim BEFORE your first day. Trust me.
  18. I would ask. I don't see how it could hurt.
