I heard that the Next Gens from 4245-4278, some of the spectrum signs are replaced and removed. Was it from the cause that the signs are lagging or another reason?

4261 and 4270 have apparently had theirs removed, replaced by signs from 4077 and 4083 (now retired). Unaware of any other units as of now

Yes it is. 500K miles is the threshold for buses to be retired at.

500k is not necessarily the mark for retirement. With the RTSs running for 20-22 years, they definitely accumulated way more mileage than that. Plus, there were some OGs, namely 2004-05 ones in Brooklyn, that hit over 600k around four-five years before retirement.

It is for NYCT. The quotes for MTA Bus were for the 289 clean diesel buses above and for the 250 express buses above that. There probably wasn’t enough space for that quotation on the same line, so it went to the next line, making you believe it was for the line underneath the quotation (which was the 245 artics).

    Ah ok. Thanks for clarifying

Active procurements as of June 2022:

    • 470 battery-electric buses

    • 355 standard

    • 25 standard (MTABC)

    • 90 articulated

    • 5 Nova standard battery-electric buses (award expected in 2022)

    • 250 express clean-diesel buses

    (MTABC)

    • 289 standard clean-diesel buses

    (MTABC)

    • 245 articulated clean-diesel buses

    Upcoming procurements

    • 213 standard CNG buses (MTABC)

    • 155 standard CNG buses

    • 92 express clean-diesel buses

    • 10 battery-electric test buses (unclear if this is part of the NovaBus contract or a different contract altogether; at least 5 are possibly coach units)

The 245 Artics are for MTA Bus? I initially thought that they were for NYCT.

9596 was sent to MHV more than a month ago. 9599 and 9450 haven’t seen service in a while, but some have reported that 9599 is in MHV. Not sure about 9450, someone needs to confirm that one as I haven’t seen anyone report that one on this thread.

Last I heard, it was moved to Manhattanville on May 31st.

A whole LOT of the new Novas are already built at the Nova plant upstate....

The buses facing the camera seem to be mostly Diesels with some hybrids sprinkled in there.

Very interesting. I counted around 14-15 LFS HEVs, and around 27 LFS Diesels in this photo, give or take a few units. There were also a couple more units, but I could not determine what those will be yet.
