Finished first day at PS248. Class of 50 people. I believe the highest list number was someone in the 1500s.

Recieved work boots and 2 new booklets. Nothing major discussed. My trainers are Mr Drayton and Mr Corcino.

Hey G13. How do those workboots feel? And did they keep you a full 8 hours?

  2. I believe only some of us were told to restore out names back on the list due to medical holds. Since I was on a medical hold, people with higher numbers than mine (13X9), meaning 1400s or higher, were hired. The list keeps going whether you have a medical hold or not and if you are passed due to medical hold or not showing up for pre-employment, you will have to restore your name on list.

If you havent gone for medical yet, i would say not to worry. This process of restoring list # has most likely been going on since the list came out.

  3. I didn't make the sept 25 class due to medical hold [emoji30][emoji30]...

My medical got cleared on Monday so now I'm in the Nov.6 class

Im going to give in my clearance documents on friday 9/22. Maybe I can make it in that same class. I've been on medical hold for a month already.

  4. You'll need a Dr to sign off on you being fit for duty I'm guessing. Can you make an appointment?

Already did. Yes they tell you what they want written on the document you need for medical clearance. Besides that, the only test that seemed ridiculous is their breath test. Inhale deep and blow out as hard as you can. Never had to do that before for any physical.

  5. hey all, i just received my pre-employment process letter today. ill be heading to brooklyn on monday the 21st. whats the day like ? im aware ill probably be there all day. also, do they conduct the drug/alchohol test same day or are we scheduled for another day. asking since ive been recovering from an injury and ive been taking some meds recently. its been a few days so maybe im just being paranoid. thanks everyone.

They take a urine sample. I'm assuming it only tests for other drugs. Maybe alcohol. Idk. Just make sure you have all required documents and your paperwork is filled out completely with "N/A" in spaces where no info is needed and no gaps in your employment/unemployment history. I went in at 7am with 15 ppl ahead of me and was out by 11am. And when they send you to the lab, make sure you find the door that actually says "lab" on it, and use the timestamp machine on the table in front of the window for the document they give you right before you go to lab. Ppl that work there might not give you the best instruction/directions.

  6. Got back from 180 livingston today. Wasn't too bad. Got there at 6:50 am. Doors opened a little after 7am. Lab would have been quicker but i sat in the wrong waiting room for almost an hour until a lady at the counter redirected us.

    Total time there: 4 hours

  7. Thanks for the info. For all that, I'll just go off memory. Spoke to someone at Livingston today and he said "just put it down as best as you can remember" I know exactly who I worked for, and got the years down, just not the months.

Thats perfect then. If you have that info already, save yourself the $115.

  8. Guess we might be in the same batch. Keep me posted

Riellou, that list you got for employment history from SS, they printed it on the spot? I asked and the guy was like it'll take 3 months and arrives in the mail.

Sure thing. Will keep you posted. I went to the social security administration on 12th st and ave. C (NYC). There are other offices in the city and outer boros. I chose that one based on convenience. $115 is what you pay if you want your "detailed earnings statement" print-out. You can only pay by credit/debit card or money order...NO CASH!!! The statement will show the names, addresses, and years worked for past employers, but not the exact months so that you'll have to figure out on your own or possibly contact IRS if needed.
