TBH if it's your son's Bday......and if you miss it - u'll never experience it again. i would go to his bday and vacation with the fam. life is short....we had a T/O cadet that passed from a horrific accident and she never even made it to the road. super sad. so yea....live life now. keep in mind they can always change your dates too....so if u book the trip to another date, they can switch your medical dates too if they need to! so can't really plan it plan it ya know

how many "niches" are out there on the road? (i hope i dont have to bribe folks at the crew office? LOL) im curious cuz it's VERY brutal. and yes...so much confirmed reports of TOs quitting after graudation and even an entire class quit on the spot. anyways....would love to know some 'secret niches' being an XX. i'm all ears!

can you lose it before your medical? if not....just go in and hope for the best. see what the doc says. sleep study might be in order. but just do it...and it will clear you i passed my medical. but being XX is taking a toll on my health.

dont worry. i mean i got hired. you should see me and my gut. jesus...... trying to lose weight. it's tough, but need to do it for health reasons. i don't even need to use my hands for the MC. i let my gut handle the operations

bad enough that i'm sleep deprived most of the days of the week and (s)crew office loves to torture because they get off on that....i heard 2 are quitting from a previous class for personal/family reasons. i can relate. i'm sure there are secrets / tactics i can do to make XX easier.....bribe??? but....i'm not too sure. they might just be urban legends

i would have just kept working ur old job or something new. a lot of folks who loves XX are masochists

i wished more folks quit. so i can get outta XX hell faster. but if more newbies quit, that won't help newbies like me since the senority numbers won't really change

are you a TO? it doesn't get any easier for me at least. it's very stressful. some folks can handle it better than others. but give it a try..... are you close to being done in school car?

this is so me!!!!!!! omg.... i mean.... it doesn't even hurt paying uber. rest is just that much more important. 1 hour 50 mins on train vs 40 min ride in uber. NO BRAINER!!!!

btw why the whole class quit? was it cuz of their TSS's? it must have been something huge to cause an entire TA/TB class to go Buh BYE

getting fired might be a good thing. i have been fired from a job i had after college, it hit me hard, but it actually opened doors for me to an even better job, more pay, and much much better environment. one door closes the other opens is the saying? but Transit.....on the other hand. oh boy. i'm still new so.....i'm waiting for it show me it can actually be better. doesn't seem like it the crew office really really plays dirty. i mean.....changing tours is just mental and physical torture wouldnt u agree?

Just some random questions if anyone wanna chime in. thanks in advance! 1) what's the average time a newbie has to be here until he/she can win a bid/pick? say RDO relief? 2) what about vacataion relief? how much of senority until you pick those? 3) let's have a mini vote? which is better RDO relief or Vacation relief? i suppose it's subjective right? 4) and of course...once a newbie can pick a job....i keep hearing they get scraps. is it REALLY that bad? like...only those 3-4 trippers are left??

not sure if ruining your license is worth getting this job as TO. but.....don't the points "expire" after a while meaning they come off your license? if so, doesn't seem too bad right?

this really sucks...... and there is no way around it. i would have quit too honestly. commuting time is life minutes u will never get back.

is work trains fun / easier? or does it have its own annoyances? work trains sounds amazing....no customers.....no worries over running a station!!
