  1. Congrats TeeGRid67 on your Line Training.

And Congrats to Bklyn Style on finishing your Probation.

And thanks FutureBOTo for the "yellow lights are red lights" rule. That is duly noted.

Well fellow Bus Operators and Future Bus Operators, the verdict is in. I was fingerprinted today, sworn in, was given my Benefits and Employment Package, Rules and Regs Book, Code of Ethics Book etc. and told to report to Zerega on Monday April 3rd at 7am.

I am happy and excited that it's finally happening. Looking forward to learning how to operate and to drive the "MTA WAY"

Anyone else on this forum is scheduled for the April 3rd Training?

Thank you, I'm scheduled for my drug test on Monday March 27th. Good luck in the April class, I'll probably in a class after that but then again who knows. Anything is possible.

    :: LIST UPDATE ::

I called Ms. Chestnut today to see what number they're up to and then she asked for my list number and social. Mine is 31xx and she said we sent you a letter already and I should have came in on the Monday that just passed. I told her I never received my letter and she told me to come in next Monday with all my paper work etc.

So if your number is at 31xx and didn't get a letter yet, I suggest you call.

My process should be easy as I'm just switching agencies from OA to TA so I can put a transfer in to go to Staten Island hopefully.

I'll see you Monday that's when I have my drug test. I just got my letter today. List number 31xx. Funny part I called DCAS yesterday and the number they have is in the 1900s

We just have to do the right thing and be EXTRA careful all city jobs have a probationary period ... just a little hard knowin u have that pressure there but best of luck to all of us goin threw the probation now..

Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

If it's something you REALLY want in my opinion it's probation but I want think of it as probation. If you think that way unfortunately something might happen. Just my 2 cents

  2. my road test is for next Friday. I was scheduled for a February road test but I thought I was going to make a class for conductor but I missed it. I find driving with traffic not so bad. My parking is on point and I call out everything I see. My instructor was very good and showed me tips and tricks to ace the road test. I just have to calm my nerves once the road test starts. I'm doing my road test out in Hicksville Long Island since I heard it isn't a bad road test site compared to the ones in the city especially out in queens. Plus there are tons of videos on you for the pre-trip inspection to use as a study guide.

First off good luck on your road test. Its was my 2nd day in a large vehicle the instructor I have is great. The school gave me a study sheet of the steps for the pre trip so I'm looking over that. I feel confident I can pass. I think my road test will be in red hook in Brooklyn.

  3. I'm one step closer to obtaining NY CDL License. My 2 week of driving. I need to work on my Pre Trip inspection and parking. But the actual driving in heavy traffic to me comes as a breeze. I told my instructor I rather loss points for parking then failing because I hit the curb.

  4. Gleason has 14 lines total. 4,8,9,11,16,35,37,43,61,63,67,68,69,70. Their main line is the 35, one of the heaviest lines in the whole system.

Thank you I remembered about the 8 11 and 16(I use to take that to high school daily), after I hit post

  5. The Brooklyn depots that are closest to Staten Island are Jackie Gleason and Ulmer Park. Gleason is in Sunset Park, which is not far at all to the bridge, while Ulmer Park is in Bensonhurst. I started at Jackie Gleason and was there for 4-5 months, I then transferred to Fresh Pond and was there for one month before my transfer to Queens finally came thru. Gleason was a great depot, and most of their routes are good. I left due to it being too far from where I live, which is in Queens. If you have any questions about the depots feel free to private message me.

What routes do Gleason have B4,9,35,37,63,67(?),68,69(?),70 what else I'm just wondering?

  6. Wow this is good news. I'm 31xx as well. I just started line training at Ulmer Park depot last week as an OA so I can't wait for that TA letter to transfer over to Staten Island. For everyone starting their 7-10days, just *LISTEN* to your instructor and drive how they want you to drive.

For those already with a CDL B, you're already ahead of the ball game but you gotta come in with a fresh mindset as if you don't know how to drive a 40ft vehicle.

I'm great at taking instructions I learn and adapt fast. I know paying attention to them is key. I've spoken with a few mangers at some depots and superintendents. Long story short the company I work for as a supervisor in the field has security officers at some depots. That's where I absorbed my information.

  7. FutureBOtoTO: They were up to 22XX about a 10 days ago and then BOOM, I got the letter today. (My List Number is 25XX)

You're probably looking at less than a month, so keep checking your mailbox.

This list is MOVING FAST and I AM SO GLAD. LOL

See you on the Road very soon.

I'm excited thanks good luck to you. Good luck to everyone else(My fellow colleagues) in training.
