I am trying to decide if i should go for pre employment tomorrow. I obviously am dying to get on the job but starting in July would be ideal and I’m worried if i go tomorrow they will force me to start in June class.

I wonder if they’ll be doing more pre-employment days too.

How accurate do i need to be on this initial pre employment sheet? I don’t remember exact dates of every place i worked if I’m off by a month or so is that a big deal?

Also can anyone else confirm a June 4th class?

What’s the vacation progression? Like how many weeks vacation and what are the increases?

Doesn’t make me want the job any less as i probably would have worked past 55 anyway.

Yeah this is why I’m torn. But July or even August is not that far away, and I’d rather not leave my current job hanging. I can also take this time to get all the info (jobs, addresses, documents, etc.) in order so that when the list comes out I’ll be ready to go.

I don’t think NY residency is a requirement of the job. I got 100 on the test and my list number according to the letter is between 1 and 25 and I have no veterans/disability credits. I can’t imagine there being that few people with those so i will be very surprised if i don’t drop.

I guess the only thing I’m worried back is that the list winds up being established later than July. But, seems like they really need people so waiting a bit more is no big deal.

So i send the letter back and then i will get another one in July? Or i need to pay attention and reach out to MTA myself when the list is established?

My letter had a list number on it but MTA told me it will probably change slightly after dcas finalizes it.

How could i get taken off a list that doesn’t exist yet?

Something I just thought about that I am now really worried about: In 2006 while in college I received a ticket for drinking in a public place. I was at a party and had a beer in my hand and stepped off the porch onto a sidewalk where a cop saw me and gave me a ticket. I paid the ticket and that was it. This was a municipal level offense that was adjudicated and paid in municipal court. In 2009, a police officer gave me a ticket for drinking in public when he drove up on me and a group of friends, some of whom were drinking. This ticket was DISMISSED by the judge after the cop admitted to the municipal prosecutor that I did not have a drink in my hand. I have 0 other criminal/drug/alcohol related things on my record. Is this going to hold me back?

That must be a typo. Mine does not say anything about a CDL and more importantly neither does the NOE for the exam. My letter asked me to come in this past Thursday but I am out of town. They told me I could come in on Friday for pre-employment, would I still have a shot at the May 29th class?

Where did the information come from that the list will be coming out in July?
