  1. I'm sure someone actually on the job here will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe if you don't show up for pre-employment they will skip over your name. You can then re-activate your name by calling DCAS, at which point you'll be contacted for pre-employment again when the next class starts.
  2. We’re not totally passing on the opportunity though, just waiting an extra month or two to get started. But I’m in same boat.
  3. Damn. I don’t know if i want to leave my current job that quickly (it will take them a while to replace me) but i don’t want to wait until possibly August.
  4. I got 100 on the test, but did not get any veteran’s credits. I’m surprised they are bringing in so many people, they must be doing more than one class before the list comes out.
  5. Yes, besides the 25/55 retirement i don’t know anything about the vacation/sick/etc.
  6. What about hand/neck tattoos that you get after you’re on the job? Cool?
  7. Nothing disturbing! I assumed it was ok as i often see transit workers with tattoos, but didn’t know if maybe they were grandfathered in or something.
  8. Right. My question is if my arms are fully tattooed do i have to wear long sleeves at all times or is it ok to wear short sleeves and have my tattoos exposed.
  9. I can cover mine with long sleeve as well. I’m more curious about when I’m actually on the job (if i get in) i.e. can i wear short sleeve shirts in summertime even though i have a lot of tattoos.
  10. Another question: what if any is the tattoo policy for working as a TO?
  11. Yeah man. If people are getting called in this early they must really need a lot of people.
  12. So are they just not doing OPA for these provisional TO positions?
  13. I was going to say this, they probably just put the wrong template. My letter also has a few typos. Thats a decision im not able to really answer, but both jobs require passing that test 100% don’t they? Only one starts off at 34 an hour.
  14. It has 4, and the first is “a valid drivers license.” I’m almost positive you don’t need a CDL to be a TO.
  15. Weird. Mine definitely does not say that, and it’s also for TO (Yard). Question: will i ONLY be operating in the yard until permanent?
  16. I haven’t seen or heard anything about this. Just a regular drivers license is necessary.
  17. So what has to happen after the list is established before i become permanent? My list number is very high (between 1 and 25) according to the letter i got.
  18. Also maybe this thread should be moved to the main page since they have started hiring off of it?
  19. So just to be clear: If I get the job, complete schoolcar, and am operating trains for a year before the list is established, I will be probationary for 365 days after the day the list is established?
  20. If you get one having got 4 wrong then they must have the need to hire a lot.
  21. If I’m hired before the list is established im not provisional? Not saying you’re wrong just hearing different things and kinda want to know what’s up.
