I'm in the lower 800's and I still haven't been called for medical.  I did p/e on November 9th.  Has anyone else in the 800's been called for medical yet?

Highest I've seen in this forum called for medical has been in the 730s. Our time is coming soon bro.

Damm, so they let everyone in at 7am??? How’s the parking situation over there? Maybe there’s a parking lot I could park in, and do they let you bring small snacks or water inside the place? Would appreciate any help

Use spothero. Theres a parking lot exactly on the other side of the building. I think I paid like 16 for the whole day.

The January class should definitely be with numbers raging from 800 to 900. Why because I have to friends both in the December class . One with 530 ish and the other 730 ish . Transit doesn’t call in other and plus many people won’t be ready either . So I have

Thry jumped rapidly from 600 to 700 so I think you'll be likely for a jan class.

You guys gotta keep in mind that there was so much jumping because a lot of people already got in as provisional, so their numbers weren't called this time. Now that they have gotten into the 700s there won't be as much skipping. If u got 50 per class then it could be February or January if a lot of people defer or are disqualified.

I hope for January, but I'm setting mybexpections low just in case.

Hired as a TO Today, one of the best days of my life. Great bunch of guys also hired today. Will be a solid class Dec 17th.

3 PE’s was frustrating but damn worth it.  In my books already.

Congrats man I know this means more to you than anybody else here. Best of luck to you.

Best if you pre-load anything you want to watch lol.

Yea definitely.. I was actually getting pretty good service tho so I was good. Next time I do a pe (hopefully I don't do a 3rd) I'm gonna bring a board game or some dice to kill the silence in there lol.

Great blog, read every post from page 1, this is my first post.

    List # - low 3xx

Received first PE letter mid-May but deferred.

Received second PE letter end of October to report 11/2 for the 11/26 class.

Completed PE and received email a few days later for the medical on 11/9.

Reported for the medical and was put on medical hold - very disappointing.

Came back on 11/16 with copies of required medical tests and a letter from my doctor and was removed from medical hold.

Was hired for the 12/17 class as the 11/26 class had filled up.

A couple of observations for those folks who will eventually go through this hiring process:

    1.  The 5th floor at 180 Livingston appears very chaotic - there are dozens of people there for a variety of reasons. But there is method to the madness.  It works but requires a lot of patience on our part.  I got in at 7:00 the first day and got out around 5:30.

    2.  The process is incredibly paper intensive - a complete lack of automation except for a couple of computerized medical questionnaires.  You're writing a lot of the same info over and over repeatedly.  Its just the way it is.

    3.  Don't wait for your PE letter (like I did) to get your required documents in order.  Have your drivers license, social security card, high school diploma or transcript, and birth certificate or passport ready to go.  Make sure nothing is expired and don't bring copies because they won't accept them.

    4.  If you do go on medical hold, try and get it resolved quickly.  I was told to return as soon as possible because they will not hold your place in the class, just like they didn't hold mine.

One last thing, for what its worth - I was told by an HR person on the 5th floor that they call 200 people to fill 40 spots in a Train Operator class.  This is probably because, as mentioned by others, people reject the offer, can't get the required documents straightened out, fail the drug test or can't pass the medical.  For those of you with higher list numbers, my feeling is you will eventually be called probably sooner than you think, as long as the TA has need and budget.

I would just like to add one thing to this, make sure your social security card isn't damaged! I almost got sent home because of that but the Spanish dude that seems to run the show as far as pe was cool enough to let me slide but made me swear I would go replace it right away. I have my original and 2 of the letters in my name were scratched off. I went to Montague street and replaced it right away and already got my new one in the mail. So for those of you who haven't even received the pe letter yet, just make sure to get your documents in order starting now!

at any job once you begin a during a work week they hold the pay until the next pay week.  makes total sense

Yea but when u say hold it u make it sound like they are withholding pay u are entitled to. It's just not payday for you yet. The week you are starting in does not get paid until the next payday. Not a matter of holding just a matter of timing.

Pre employment tomorrow at 7:30..from what I've read I'm guessing I should arrive by 6:30 to have the best chance of getting out of there early?

Yea you'll be lining up outside until they open the doors at 7 but u will be out quick assuming u have all of your documents and no outstanding tickets.

I'm 81*, did my PE on Friday, November 9th.  I haven't been called for any more PE or medical yet.  Did anyone else in the 800-900 get called for medical yet?

I don't think so... Highest I've seen called for medical is in early 600s.

Wonder when us 1000s will be called for medical. Least y'all 400s are in right now. We're probably gonna have to chill a few more months.

I'm in the 900s. I think that we gonna wait a few and I might have a 3rd pe. Reason I say that is the provisional stopped around the 600s which is why it seems to be moving fast. They are pretty much just calling those that deferred and people whose numbers are close to where huey stopped. After they reach the number that the provisional stopped at, it's gonna slow back down as continue from where they left off. I still think it'll be within the next 5 months for me but I'm not expecting it too soon just to stay level-headed.

Do any of you read? I have every single one of you beat list wise. in fact, ive never seen a person with a higher number than me on this entire forum and ive read almost every page. i did my first PE back in may, and my 2nd one earlier this month. ive still yet to be called. if you sit back and wait thinking there is some sort of "justice" or fair play here, then you are wrong. this is an entirely random/biased process from my experience. you are not guaranteed to get called just because you have a certain list number that you think is low. trust me, i have you beat and im still sitting here waiting to get called. and oh yeah, ive never failed a drug test in my life nor do i have any convictions/legal issue or anything preventing me from getting the call. there is some seriously shady sh*t going down at 180 livingston. its all politics.

Relax man. Go to livingston. You're the only person I've heard of saying their number was skipped. There has to have been some mistake and u won't get an answer on the phone. Just pop up and tell them what's up.

This is great and I hope it does help keep your BMI down under that 35 mark. Another thing to keep in consideration is your neck size. If it is over 18" they will put you on hold and have you do a sleep apnea test for that. You should be able to get that number from a local tailor or dress store. Get it just to make sure that you're good!

Is it 17 or 18? I think someone else said 17 before.

If you guys ever take a look at your current paystubs from your current employer you’ll get an idea.

hourly times hours minus union/state/fed. It won’t be exact but a good idea of what you’ll receive, minor deduction for other things you may need, give or take 100 ish dollars.

There's a website called paycheckcity.com that has a calculator you can use. I'm seeing 1868 bi-weekly after taxes but that doesn't include overtime or night/weekend differential, just base pay. Also didn't include deductions I will add like 401k and stuff like that. It's around 70 percent more than what I'm getting now.

lol listen I'll say this, it's a lot better than my last job, but that 2 week pay tax bracket is a killer, lol, can't wait to go posting, I heard T/Os are getting OT during posting, depending on the job, it's hard for me to explain cause I don't know it verbatim lol

Just trying to do a little research 😄 all good thanks bro.

To the people upset about the process, I did my 2nd p/e today. It comes with the territory man. It's frustrating and I really hope I don't have to do it again, but if I do it is what it is. This isn't my dream job like TO legacy but I need to take care of business at home and this is the best opportunity to do so. Sitting around all day and waiting is a small price to pay for the life changing opportunity. My old impala is starting to die, my daughter is about ready for school, my wife and I are tired of living in a shitty neighborhood in the bronx, and the bills are piling up every month with no mercy.

Good luck to all of you and just be patient. You will have your day. Think about my best friend who had his heart set on this job and did terrible on the test. He's number 76** and will most likely never be called.

Thanks a lot!! I definitely am trying! It's crazy cause at first all the information that's being thrown at you seems like a lot! Like nah no way I'm going to be able to get this all down, signals, equipment, procedures, lol, but I swear it's really starting to get to that point where I'm like oh yeah, I gotta do this, without the hesitation and thinking for like 10 seconds trying to remember something. Plus that paycheck is guaranteed every other Thursday, so that alone is enough motivation lol.

What that check looking like after taxes, if u don't mind me asking? 🧐

  16. This is my second time and it's taking just as long as the first so I hope it's the last pre-employment for me. This waiting around is exhausting.

Edit: just to put it in perspective for ya.. I was no more than 40th max on the line and I'm still waiting to do my drug test. So if u get here past 7 30am, get ready to leave at 7pm.
