Smart, I've been training for the test to get my class B Commercial before my permit expires. It seems like the pre trip inspection is hard as hell.

the pre-trip inspection is nothing, easy, the driving is hard, just memorize it and that is all, I got mind 4 days ago.

Well, I just received my letter today for the BOSS exam scheduled for Monday October 23, 2017 at 11:00A on Livingston St. in Brooklyn.

Hopefully some of you will also get your letters shortly as well. Best of luck to all of you. Maybe I will see some of you there. :)

    Good luck .

  3. Finally a member that can post. Great. For some dumb reason this is the only bus operator test I applied to. Not very smart, but I live in the Bronx not to far from Zerega ave so it could be worse. Unfortunately my list number is in the 2,5XX. Pretty far away but its fine. I also applied to train operator but that is the long road. Just got my CDL and will try to get some experience in the field. Good to know that people are being called for BOSS tho. Hopefully things move quickly and a lot of people in front of me are disqualified. :P

disqualified? For what? The boss exam is not yet, the first exam suppose to be October 23.

  4. You'll be serving few bus stops as well..don't hit or skin the curb..automatic disqualification..( the bus stop on 86th st. soon after you make the right from Lex to 86th and the one before turning to Madison on 86th, If I remember correctly.)

    thanks

  5. From what I recall from 2014, one or two of them might be tight turns or hook turns, however 95% of them were regular "L" turns. However, one of the things you need to do is to forward plan and determine if it is a regular "L" turn or a "hook" turn depending on the scenario at that particular time...

those turns are my routes when am driving my taxi, is there a book that I can learn about this turns? Hook, L, pivot? Thanks

  6. That's the route!! The only difference from February of 2014 (when I tried to qualify and failed) was that we started and ended at the 126th Street Bus Depot, which has since closed.

Just to clarify the "turnaround at 5th Avenue":

    -South on Lexington Avenue

-Right on 96th Street (service bus stop)

    -Right on Madison

    -Left on 97th Street

    -Left on 5th Avenue

    -Left on 96th Street

    -Right on Lexington Avenue

    -Left on 86th Street

    -(see the quote above)

good explanation, so all this turns are tight turns or hook turns? Thanks.

  7. No. MTA B/O Training is more strict since they want you to drive the buses their way or it's the highway.

The DMV CDL road test is also strict, but I wouldn't say as much strict, since you're allowed to get up to 50 points on the road test before you fail. With MTA, it's either an "S" or a "U".

    Thanks young.

  8. Follow this link for the thread and it is post #201 that will provide the information that I used to "study" for the T/O #7604 test. Like everyone else had stated before though, it was reading comprehension mostly. I did not use the green Passbook though. As someone else stated in the thread: "Not only that those books just have a series of questions with outdated terms, with the answers in the back of the book. But they don't explain to you why they're right or wrong. So that doesn't help you in the least bit. Because they don't explain any policies or procedures. Plus they questions they ask are far harder than any questions ions they'll ever ask on the exam itself".

Can you elaborate on why you do not think that it is random? If you think about it, it must be some sort of a random-number-assignment the way they hand them out.

Best of luck and hang in there :)

Thanks I appreciate the information provided, good luck
