  1. So about the MNRR cars M3A's that are in Long Island City parked, how did they get there? Which route would an MNRR train take to connect to the LIRR?
  2. LIRR Question: why are there M3s unused at what looks like an abandoned station in Long Island city, near where 5 points used to be? I've also seen a passenger car of the old LIRR diesel trains of the 80s and 90s end up there as well. What's that station's purpose and why aren't those trains in service?
  3. Asked this awhile ago, but is there any update...as of April, are R62a's still on the line?
  4. What's the difference between Alstom and Siemens R160s other than the sound of the motor? Also same question for the difference between R160A and R160B (alstom) besides the sound of the doors opening?
  5. About how many trains are there on the and lines as of now? And about how many of those are R68/68a ?
  6. Not sure if already proposed, but what if the line had a second number line to share the the tracks as Astoria currently. For example both trains would originate (or terminate) at Main St., proceeds to 34th while the second line would either turn uptown or downtown in Manhattan via either Lex or 7th Ave. Also one train would switch to the other at Main St if two of the same kind arrive.
  7. Could R46s ever be displaced on the and lines? It would actually make sense and be much easier to switch from one to the other at Ditmars since they are half-digital.
