  1. Honestly I have some cautious optimism here. If this plane works it would be far better than the inevitable traffic fiasco. But as things go with the (MTA) they don't usually go smoothly.

It's always good to bring in new technology to the NYC subways, because boy are we behind on almost every level. I hope we still get the upgraded power capacity that would allow more trains to be run.

Our trains are permanently linked in five car sets. There is nonneed for decouopling. Second, urine isnt a problem on OG trains because, you know, there' s nowhere for them to piss.

Yeah, there's also nowhere for people to piss on non-OG sets. People just do it anyway.

Some of those (4) train conductors can really be aholes sometimes for real....(3) train pull in utica and soon as our doors open he purposely closed the doors in our faces...basicly saying yall wait for the next one to come....I mean its ok to do that before the train pulls in ....but to do that right when everyone making a dash for the transfer is not right....(MTA) needs to change that kind of rule

The other day I had a (6) train conductor close the doors before anyone got on.

Exactly. I'm so glad they're focused on these damn yard stickers for cars that never interact with each other. Meanwhile, we're all just roasting here on the (6) trains because the HVAC crapped out again.

To be fair putting a sticker on a car is far less work than repairing an HVAC

There is no (Q) service in both directions between 57 St-7 Av and 96 St because of switch problems at 96 St. See a station agent to receive a courtesy pass for continuing train or bus service. Consider transferring between the nearby (4) , (5) , or (6) lines and the (N) , (R) , and (W) lines at Lexington Av/59 St.

I wonder if it's actually switch problems ie problems with the trackage. The switch at 96th street is new.

Speaking of stuck trains what happens in a medical emergency? Does that person have to wait till train moves ?

If the train is stuck, then yes - trains are not concerned with whether or not someone needs medical attention.

I’d prefer they don’t run them there. I feel that even though it’s only a couple of trains per hour, those (R) trains to/from 96th switching from local to express (and vice versa) could still gum up the tracks, especially during rush hours.

They would likely be switching at 57th and not 34th so they're not going to gum up the upper broadway express tracks. It will also be good to get those 2 tph off of 60th street which is very congested as is.

Second ave. has the capacity to spare.

Rode a (3) train that had a hot car on my way home today. It was so hot the door leading to the next car was left open so that the air could come in. Feels like the air conditioning crisis is slowly spreading to the R62s.

The r62s have always had the worst AC in my experience. The only hot cars I've run into this summer were r62s on the (1) and (6)

There's this bootlegger that frequently uses the (D) in The Bronx to sell his stuff. He's an elderly looking man who just rambles on as mostly everyone ignores him. On one occasion, he boards the train as usual and begins his usual shtick, trying to convince anyone who will listen to buy his DVDs. At the next stop, a second bootlegger enters the train, also selling DVDs. This other bootlegger is much more charismatic and energetic than the elderly man, and is actually able to convince some on the train to buy his stuff. The first bootlegger stands behind him in horror with a crushed, defeated look on his face as his rival claimed his territory right in front of him. Truly the most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen on the subway.

I've seen the second bootlegger before, last I saw him he didn't have the movie someone wanted so he gave his cell to the women he was selling to and said to give him a call anytime and he promised he would have the movie by tomorrow.

    Seems like a good salesman.

Hey what would be the feasibility of creating a transfer between Lexington 59 and Lexington 63 from 3rd Avenue since it's wider than Lexington for a start?

Tunneling under hundreds of millions of dollars worth of real estate, closing down a busy thoroughfare, tunneling under the (N)(R)(W) tracks, and creating a poor passenger flow situation where people have to cram onto the already crowded 60th street platform to get between transfers.
