I also love how you've basically changed nothing on the map except for your little "(A) extension", the reopening of Cortlandt Street (which you're calling WTC), the transfer from the (3) to the (L) at Livonia Avenue, and making the (Z) an express line.... 😑😑😑

You forgot about the C now being extended to Lefferts Blvd and all the A trains going to Far Rockaway.

I see the (Z) runs a peak service in this map. But make it skip stop east of the junction or you'll ruin frequencies

The Z now runs full-time express on this map.

Last but not least where's phase 2 of SAS.

Phase 2 will be completed by January 2029.

It won't get done, but mostly because a direct tunnel would be like ten miles long and cost billions of dollars that we don't have. Location, location, location.

In all honesty, ridership in the Rockaways is so low that they should terminate all (A) service at Howard Beach and convert the rest of it to an AirTrain-style automated light rail system.

So low? I went on the (A) train back to Far Rockaway during rush hour and the train was crowded all the way to Far Rockaway - Mott Av.

    Service Change

    Posted: 02/08/2018 12:57PM

There is no (4) and (5) train service between Atlantic Av-Barclay Ctr and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall in both directions.

    (5) trains are running along the (2) line between Nevins St and 149 St-Grand Concourse in both directions.

These service changes are because of FDNY activity at Borough Hall.

    Expect delays in (2) , (3), (4) and (5) train service.

My work is 150 feet away from the Wall St 4 & 5 station and 900 get away from the Fulton St 4 & 5 station. I used to wake the A train from Far Rockaway - Mott Av to Fulton St and how the 4 of 5 train 1 stop to Wall St. Just yesterday, I realized that it's quicker to just walk to Fulton St going back home because of the underpass and the northbound station being around 100 feet further that the southbound station. It's interesting timing that no trains are running at either Wall St or Fulton St. All I did was walk the whole northbound platform of the 4 & 5 Fulton St train to the A & C passageway right to the A train.

Also, I'm pretty sure your neighbors would not agree with your sentiments on a train line right there, especially considering the part of Far Rockaway you live in

How did you guess very accurate?

I know you're new here, but have you ever heard of the proposals thread?

But that (A) extension in the Rockaways is...

I need this extension. I can't stand this 20 minute walk to the train station, especially in the frigid cold.

As for extending (A) to Rockaway blvd: Not possible, It's a triple track el with no provisions for a platform at Rockaway blvd, a peak direction is possible in theory but it would have to bypass Rockaway blvd and go straight to Euclid.

They can redo it to have 4 tracks. The 18th Avenue Station on the Culver line has 3 tracks as well and there used to be express service there.

Expanding the (A) to Reads Lane: Why? is there a demand for this?

I live off of Reads Lane and I have a crazy 20 minute walk to the train station. Plus, there's a grass median on Reads Lane which is a perfect place for an Elevated line.

Why did you butcher the (Z) so much? whats the point of adding all those stops?

I didn't touch the (J) and (Z) line yet. All I did was take away the (M) between Myrtle Avenue and Broadway Junction because construction on the Myrtle Avenue line will be long finished by then.

    (F) express: probably not for reasons outlined in the other thread

I'm sure they'll bring it back by some point.

Z going express west of myrtle Avenue and operating full time ... <1> express

    With what tracks??

They'll add new ones for (Z) express service. I'll probably save that for the 2038 subway map. There used to a (9) skip-stop service that complemented the (1). I'm going to reintroduce it as the <(1)>.

extend the IRT Nostrand Avenue line to Coney Island - Stillwell Avenue.

With what capacity? Stillwell ave. IIRC is already turning about as much as it can, also Stilwell ave is B division, and even if it wasn't that makes no sense.

    (2) would be best off heading south on Flatlands ave. to Avenue U, maybe off to Neponsit.

    (5) would be best off heading south on Nostrand and terminating at Shore Parkway. Maybe a (5) express between Flatbush ave and Franklin ave if you're feeling optimistic.

I've seen proposals about extending the IRT Nostrand Avenue line. I'm sure they can add to Stillwell Avenue to make an IRT station as well.

I still need to extend the Q to 125 street

You'd better get digging then lol

I'm sure they'll be finished with Phase 2 by then.

  8. I've overlooked a lot of things on the Subway map. I still need to have the Z going express west of myrtle Avenue and operating full time, I need to have the Cortlandt station opened, I still need to extend the Q to 125 street, I need to make the <1> express, I need to extend the IRT Nostrand Avenue line to Coney Island - Stillwell Avenue.
