If vaccination was mandatory, they could have 70 in a class again. This 20 people at a time is excruciating

FUBAR If that don’t motivate you to give 100% nothing will.

I believe we have to go to Livingston, they have a specific form that must be filled out. I need to do this too. Must change mailing address

So i just spoke to a TSS over here and he told me that the MTA received a budget to hire 200 train operators and 200 conductors as well, he said they should be hiring throughout the year and onwards.
Thanks for the tea

So, no information about future classes, or how many they intend to appoint?

Doubt they will hire that many. Covid made it to where classes went from 10 to 5 and they have just so many places to send these classes to to where too many of us aren’t together and multiple classes aren’t in the same place. They might state they need 200 in order to make transit hire at least 50. Everything has a budget
When you were appointed in September, open data stated there were 57 vacancies. How many were actually appointed?

I just looked at the open data certified list. It appears that the last appointed was 1304

The DCAS phone line has been frustrating me as well. Lol. I’ve called it dozens of times since they certified for 200 open positions. Anyone who gets information from Livingston, please post

So... does MTA actually have authorization to fill 200 vacancies, with a hiring freeze, reduced budget etc, etc? Or is this just wishful thing and a tease?

According to DCAS the highest appointed is 1228 Probably deferrals and cleared medical holds DCAS supposedly updates the database every Sunday

I was wondering the same thing, Pete

🤔 is there any chance you’ve failed the drug test? With this being a safety sensitive title, the MTA very likely uses Methods that detect far lower concentration than standard UA, as well as cheaters. Or do you think the lab would call you to notify you of the positive result? Since this is an issue I have zero experience with, I have no idea how mta acts when a candidate’s results come back dirty, or their positive/ negative cutoff limits

When you folks attend the medical, please try to find out how many they intend to appoint, future classes, class size etc. many of us behind you eagerly await the TEA. 163X

I got mine instantly, when I went to the office IN PERSON. Yes it cost 90 something dollars, but my work history goes back to 1993. DO IT. I found stuff I had forgotten about. Of course this was pre pandemic, but inaccuracies and omissions will cost you this opportunity

It’s one of the columns in the dataset

The lowest list number on this certified list is #36, and yet he is #17 on the certification sequence . Where are the other 16? What are their list numbers? How can this be???

1229 is 59th in the certification list, meaning there are still 58 eligible names with a smaller list number. With only 57 vacancies to fill.........
0 -
That certification sequence number is the number of people in front of you. MTA could theoretically fill every one of the vacancies listed and the list could stay at 1228. People who deferred, put on medical hold, were skipped etc, with a number smaller than the last appointed will be called first

Time is money. I’d rather decline and remove my number from consideration and wait until they’re close and reinstate it, than go to preemployment every 90 days until they reach mid 1600s.

They just certified 12000 of us. For 57 vacancies though. Why 12000???

In a perfect world, they could give it at the pre-employment and medical. That probably makes too much sense to actually happen though....
