  1. @Biggington oh wow yes I got my transfer to the Bronx about 3 weeks ago. I loved it in Ulmer park, the routes are great compared to the Bronx lol. But I’m getting used to the Bronx now and I love that I’m only 10 minutes from Home. The people in Ulmer park are great and I truly miss them everyone was so helpful. They mentioned me??? Awwww I hope they miss me too! The good thing is that if we do get laid off, I think we will def get rehired. Good you got to stay in UP, are you on the extra list?
  2. Hey, it’s been a minute. How is everyone doing. Is anyone else worried about being laid off? I hope all you guys are doing great!!!
  3. To everyone that passed the 7 day class and went back to zerega. The paper they gave us that states our starting salary and bsc number, did you notice there is a step up salary? Does anyone know what or when that is? After graduation does our salary remain the same?
  4. @train1290 yes. Even people that has their CDL has to do the pre-trip. But you only have to do it for your supt. That is training you. And you def want him to know that you know what you are talking about since they are the ones that pass us. The good thing for people with their Cdl’s is that once you pass the 7-10 day training then you’re in , but those that doesn’t have it has to go to Eastchester depot to study for their road test.
  5. @Biggington I kept messing up on my turns too. I kept either turning too early before my reference point or too late I just couldn’t get it and I even started to give up and not return for day 3. I went home and practiced a little in my car and squared up my turns and practiced my reference points. Maybe you can try your best to just keep your wheel as sturdy as possible and keep your wheel on the traffic lane line’s that divides the street. Oh and most importantly go SLOW, I’m talking crazy slow unless your supt. Says otherwise. Once you go slow you should be able to keep your bus in your lane. If you got better after day 1 then that’s good, that’s what they are looking for, progression not perfection. That’s what my supt told me
  6. @bkborn yes there were more picks but by the time they got to me there was only one more spot left so I had no choice but to take it. And nope I wondered the same thing, you can not swap depots
  7. Today is day 12 and I finally got to pick my depot. Unfortunately I got stuck with Ulmer park depot in Brooklyn and I lice in the Bronx. The good thing I guess is that that’s the only depot that has express depots.
  8. @lornaevo forgive me if you told me already, but what depot are you at?
  9. @mertd93i took me until day 4 lol. Days 2 and 3 I got unsatisfactory. But DONT let that discourage you. Like my supt. Said, he is not looking for perfection. Good luck!
  10. @mertd93 hey yes, day 7 was yesterday and my whole class qualified. They sent me to queens village depot today to train on the nova bus and new flyer bus at jfk airport. So far so good. How are things for you? Where are you at in this process again?
  11. @luiggi0102 how is line training. Will I be driving the bus or just sitting and learning the routes?
  12. Thanks guys! I’m excited to see which depot I end up in! Good luck to those starting the class this weekend!
  13. @lornaevo today is day 7 and my whole class passed!!! Tomorrow we have to go to a depot in queens to train on some more buses or something!
  14. @+Young+ honestly I haven’t looked at the handout much but I did skim through it. When my superintendent started doing the pre trip and air break test I just recorded the whole thing in my phone and went home and studied it. That way you will know exactly what he wants his students to say.
  15. @lornaevo His name is Bosco. He’s good.
  16. @lornaevo thanks, I actually did that today! Surprisingly lol. Thanks for that advise and trust me, anything else please feel more than free to add because it is a lot!!!
  17. @lornaevoyes you are right!! Ugh Manhattan was easy though because the streets are much wider.
  18. @emmanuelv8 ok good. They have me in Flatbush depot. day 5 and we are driving in Manhattan. So far so good. I really hope we qualify on day 7!
  19. @merdtd93 a bunch of paperwork asking if you have any tickets, pending violations etc. any criminal history. They take a copy of your license, you fill out if you want a metro north pass or LIRR pass. It takes a long time to fill out because everybody has to do it together and then people make mistakes and have to start all over again. Towards the end of the class they tell everyone which depot you have to report to, which is random so be prepared to travel. I live in the Bronx and they put me in Flatbush for training. They also talk to everyone about the importance of the job etc.
  20. @Moody sorry. @Ramirez1523 that question was meant for you and good luck on your line training.
  21. @emmanuelv8 hey how is training going?
  22. @Moody you got overtime on your second day????? Omg that’s great!!! Do you remember what other Bronx depots were on the list? Was gunhill there? Also is that run 23 hours everyday? How does that work, congrats!!!!!
  23. Lol. I just went really slow and surprisingly I did it
  24. @lornaevoits going good. I just finished day 4 and we did under the train station, going in and out. They have me in Flatbush. I actually did better today than yesterday with my turns and stuff.
