  1. Can you tell me if it is worth studying the Phase 1 Quizlet info? I understand it will be different like it was for S&D.
  2. My panel interview was 10/2. Still waiting for an official result. I was told it could be quite some time.
  3. Go and make color copies of the signals. Cut them up and paste them on to index cards. Index cards are probably the best way to remember the signals. It works great for definitions too. Your stack of cards will be quite large.
  4. For my overview, the open house started at 8am (SHARP) and the instructors had finished the read-through of all the signals and definitions by 11:30am. I was out in time for lunch. Just remember that was MY experience; actual results may vary. In regards to dress code - business casual is just fine. I wore slacks and a dress shirt. Some people wore jeans and t-shirts, however, I did not notice any backlash on that as the same few were wearing jeans and t-shirts to the overview. When you said "doctors pants," did you mean scrubs?
  5. Thanks. The Quizlet stuff for S&D was only about 90% accurate. Not good when it has to be verbatim.
  6. Does anyone know if the Phase 1 stuff on Quizlet is accurate? Is it "good enough" to get a picture of what is ahead?
  7. Congrats on getting the interview. There were no S&D questions in my interview. That being said - that is not a guarantee that your interviewers will not ask any. Basic job interview type questions.
  8. My interview after the S & D test is this week. Anyone have any tips not to screw up the interview?
  9. How often do Phase 1 classes begin? Are there more than one class ongoing at any time?
  10. There were 24 candidates in my overview. Only 14 made it to the S&D exam.
  11. You can use the Quizlet app for your phone, however, beware that some of the indications and definitions are different than the packet that will be given to you. Regardless of what Quizlet says - the packet must be your rule and guide! At the Overview, if there are any extra copies of the packets they will be offered to you. TAKE THEM. You can make flashcards from the extra packets. If there are no extra packets - have color copies made. The packets will be well worn by the time you take the exam.
  12. September 7? Be patient. I found out exactly one month after the exam that I had passed. It was hell second guessing myself for an entire month. If you feel like you did well, you probably did. Good luck.
  13. Ain't that the truth!! I know I have a long road to travel, but I enjoy the challenge.
  14. Woo hoo! I passed the S&D exam. Interview in October. Can't wait to get started.
  15. So...I went for my pre-employment drug test on December 3, 2018. I was told that I would hear back from them within 90 days. It is now September 12, 2019. Ninety days has come and gone several times. My list number is something like 1860. How much longer should I be waiting for an answer?
  16. I feel the same as you. I took the S&D exam Aug 17 and constantly keep checking email. I emailed Michelle Drew in HR to ask when I could expect an answer and received no response. Pass or fail, I just need closure in order to move on. I don't want to start something else just to drop it later when LIRR finally gets back to me.
  17. When were you notified that you had passed the S&D exam? Its been over 3 weeks for me so far and I'm getting a little worried...I think I passed the exam, but there is that annoying doubt that grows day by day.
