I'm really hoping that since they're asking for paperwork now for the next group of numbers means there'll be classes in the fall too but I guess we'll see. I'm 186x so I don't think I'd get into an August one but I could see getting into a September or October class if they have them.

I only know as far as August. If I hear anything about Sep. Oct. I will keep this forum up to date.

Whats the best way to defer process for couple months? just ignore canvas email or call them? how fast they remove your name from the list in this case? thanks.

I would send an email to Ms. Vargas, Michelle.Rivera-Vargas@nyct.com or call 1(347)643-8218

Generally you only get 40 hours and no OT.  Especially in the beginning.  Supposedly 36 an hour in school car bi weekly then 37.98 after 231st ROAD day  ( IN THE CAB)

I like the sound of that, that is way more than I'm making right now even lol. I make 20.90/hr barely any OT.

Hi. I have  questions to folks who is in school car recently. What's the starting pay rate now? Are you getting just 40 hours a week during the training? How big average gross check? asking because want to figure if I can survive without overtime on training. i will appreciate your answers. you can pm me if dont want to post this info publicly. thanks.

Honestly... I'd like to know too lol

  5. When I went for my drug test I asked the counter specifically about the driver license, they said if the job doesn't require driving a vehicle like a bus or a company van it's not needed. T/O and Conductors don't need one. I had a guy without a license next to me and they told him he didn't need it. Sorry for the late response I was working.

  6. Got a call from MTA they are having classes in August guys and gals. So if you don't make it in to this class you can make it into the August class. I decided to take the august class instead because I have something major coming up in my personal life.

I feel like we are good to go our certification expires the 26th so we definitely will get calls not sure how far they will go though. Either way we will get some info 💯

I took my drug test on the first and still no call, all I got was a call to keep my eye on my email and spam. Nothing else.

Just got called for medical Friday morning. Lady on the phone told me next class is July 25th. So they're pushing to get people into that class.

Nice, Congrats Man! When did you take the drug test?

I've heard that the 2 month YX program is getting axed because the MTA needs more train operators. Idk if this helps but that's all the information I have as of now.

When it comes to the MTA... nobody knows lol

Drug test on 6/29....still waiting too.  No updates on my end yet.  I figure it's gonna take a little longer (than normal) to get the call for the medical because of the way MTA staggered everyone in the for the P/E.  This statement is just my opinion and shouldn't be taken as gospel.  16xx

Yeah I had mine done on the 1st of July. I got a call to pay attention to my email. That's it. They called me the 9th just to tell me to pay attention to my email and spam.

If you're going to do this, you'll want the results to come in as soon as possible, so you can go back as soon as possible to get cleared and sworn in.

I'm not going to recommend the doctor I went to, but back when I was getting hired I was worried I would be sidelined by having sleep apnea as well. I did a sleep study and I had decided to write in the form the MTA give you that I had done one. However, the MAC doctor told me my neck was fine and he would've greenlit me if it wasn't for that test and that we had to now wait for the results to come in. Thankfully, I got the results a week later and ran back to 180 Livingston as soon as I could and got in the last class for the year (Aug 2019).

Also, I am pretty sure there was someone here earlier in this thread who said he was found to have sleep apnea and had to use a CPAP machine for a month or so before they decided he was fine and sworn him in.

By the way just in case, for some reason I thought the later I was sworn in the later I would be on the seniority list. They keep you in place base on your list number. So even if someone behind you gets sworn in first, you're still senior to them in the same class. If you get in the class after, you should be among the top.

So… I have a schedule set up for Friday to consult a pulmonologist… should I risk it and not go or should I do it and see if I get greenlit and if I don’t get the results?

You aren't gonna get disqualified for that, just placed on medical hold until u can prove u don't have sleep apnea. If u expect to be called soon u can be proactive and do a sleep study with your doctor. Come in with those test results and u won't be placed on hold as long as it's a legit test from a legit sleep study clinic.

Copy, I'll look to getting that done this week.
