As noted, having the (C) in a GO like this operate to Broadway Junction on the (J) would give those wanting to head to Queens and JFK in particular would be able to do it as a two-seat ride instead of three on the  (A) that includes a shuttle bus.  As the (C) is 480' trains, it can be done.  Also, anyone who was going to Broadway Junction would in that scenario would be able to do it from CPW as a one-seat ride instead of the usual two.

I don’t hate this at all! I would actually welcome it

I'm surprised at the (A) line crews not wanting to qualify on the 211s considering the R179s already run on that line. But if the cameras are the reason, then shrugs.

I remember reading on one of these railfan forums back then that crews didn't want to qualify on the R160s when new cause of the black boxes on those cars. Eventually those trains got put into service, the old stuff retired and life went on..

Operating a 143/160/179 versus Operating a 211 are completely night and day. It’s not the most Train Operator-friendly piece of equipment. Whoever designed it didn’t get a TO input at all.

R211A cars 4075 and 4076, which are part of the 2nd R211 Production 5-car set, 4075-4079, have been delivered to the South Brooklyn Railway. Cars 4077, 4078, and 4079 are on the way. R211A cars 4080-4084 have also entered the process of delivery and are also on the way. 4075-4079 are expected to arrive first.

So, the (C) can't use 145th (as it would usually do) because the (D) is terminating at 161? (I never knew how that move was done, but from what I'm seeing on a track diagram, it would have to terminate on the northbound platform, and then go down the express (skipping 155th) and 145 middle.

The last time they did this GO recently, they had the (D) go to 161 on it’s regular northbound track, then operate light to north of 167 middle track then come back down in service to 161 on the southbound platform and enter service there. It seems they don’t have use of that relay track this time around so the Northbound (D) will enter 145 on the middle track, skip 155 and terminate at 161 on the southbound track, then go southbound in service from there.

Thank you! I was thinking it had to do with something like that since I saw some trains being stored on the express tracks.

I just find it weird that this isn’t reflected in any of the (A) trains schedules.

Not a permanent thing. Just a weekday service change.
