Folks, I have good news to share:
If you look at this webpage , you will see that DCAS (Department of Citywide Administrative Services) certified the entire list to NYC Transit so they can fill 200 vacancies. In addition, if you look at this webpage, after typing in "06601" in the search box, you will see that the list numbers for the next 240 candidates go up to the 2300's on the list. Therefore, @exj16, depending on who does and does not show up, you might be in luck.
In addition, if you folks want to start working on the pre-employment packet, click here. I don't think pages 10 and 11 are relevant, since this is not a driving position, however that's just me. My list number for this exam is in the 4700's, so they have a while before they get to me.
Happy Holidays!!
Hi +Young+,
would you mind explaining how to read this list? Am I going off of my list number? Or the certification sequence number?

If so then hopefully, a schoolcar TSS did tell me last week that the MTA is hiring 200 new conductors and 200 new train operators.
Ah okay, then you should be hearing back too

No not always, they sometimes drug test people and don't call them for the medical/final processing. I did 3 drug test already for train operator and I'm still waiting to be called.
Okay, being that they are calling every number below 2300, and my list number is in the 2200's , I should get called back right?

Good Morning
If you received an application for pre-employment, are you for sure going to start soon, so long as you pass the drug test and so on?

This was provided earlier in the thread I believe. Use this link and in the search bar, type in 06601.

What does the certification portion mean? I never understood that. It has an expiration date for my certification but it lists several expiration dates

Nope not true at all I believe the starting pay for people coming out this year is around 24ish an hour not sure, i had the pay rate saved to my phone but deleted it unfortunately. You get a raise every year for your anniversary and every May because of the union as well.
Lol thank you for clearing this up, I didn’t think that it was. 24 to start is doable. And with the yearly and Union raises that’s nice as well.

got an appointment/canvass letter to go to 180 livingston street, 5th floor for tomorrow. is this the drug test? and will this be a all day situation considering they give a time to come in for the appointment??
Hi Charlie,
congrats on your hiring process! When you sent the pre-application in did they call you or email you for the drug test? I think we’re in the same boat because I emailed mine back to the on the 12th of January. I had a deadline of January 13th.

Anytime, anything to help all my fellow Co workers.
Do you know what the starting pay rate is? My grandfather retired from MTA in 2000 he was a train operator. He told me they go based off your work experience and education. Is this true?

Also ladies and gentlemen I spoke to a TSS yesterday who was a school car TSS now he's on the road, he told me yesterday that the MTA received their budget so they're going to be hiring 200 conductors and 200 train operators as well so check your emails 👀
Thank you! Checking my email every 5 mins !

I'm in the same boat as you, I'm getting a pay cut going into transit lol. But it may be worth it.
There are so many great benefits and the job is a lot more secure than what I am doing now. The paycut should certainly be worth it. I’m excited.

Hey everyone!
I just received the call and email to respond to canvass Friday 1/08. I have submitted the application and responded to the canvass with required documents.
Can anyone tell me what is the response time from the submission of the application?
Also what is the entry level pay rate for anyone who was recently hired?I’m worried about a pay cut but for Transit it is worth it in the long run. I wanna know what I’m working with though lol.

You're the best, thank you. I thought as much but helps when you break it down.
