Exactly. If anything, if you look at this website and you type either "9618" or your last name into the search box, the list was actually established this past September.

Young but the link you referred to when trying to correct me was exam 9604 and I’m referring to newly established list for exam 9618 those are clearly two different exams.

My apologies for briefly going off-topic, however, with the fact, according to this post, in which "they (are) not calling from that list anymore," and with the fact that, according to this website, the last NYC Transit (TA) Certification was this July, I just have one thing to say: "I'll believe it when I see it."

I have no idea what you’re referring to that list was just established this past October no one has been called from Exam 9618 as of yet. Maybe you misunderstood me somewhere. I’m also on that list which is civil service and for TA Bus Operator.

Oh yeah the MTA gives short notices. Especially if your medical is good. Pre employment>medical>final processing>then bam you in a class. I did all those exams, Ms.Johnson couldn’t find my application for this one😂😂😂😂😂 pro-tip take some time to fill out the application properly. It’s a little bureaucratic. “Day 1 titles pdf” can be filled in on computer. Employment history part of it is the most annoying section. Any employment you don’t remember just put unemployed (they don’t really care) oh and make sure the dates are correct in chronological order. Start from past to present. Don’t do like me who started present to past. You don’t have to put every job. As it pertains to the pension part of the application- you can fill it out in the pdf or write in blue ink. Oh you definitely want to be careful with this part of it. Please be careful, precise and accurate. 😩😩

another tip. Go to target and get ink and paper for your computer. Get a folder and put every paper that concerns MTA in it.  Passport, SS card, DL, CDL permit, blank money order from POST OFFICE. $88.25.  Put them in one place aside in your home.  every time MTA calls or send an email just grab and go

Thank you for all the tips and advice. I’m on my way to work now wondering how to tell my boss that I’m quitting just not right this moment lmao. Anyways good problems to have. I’m excited can’t wait for Monday. I’ll keep you guys posted. When NYCT 9618 calls I’m transferring right over btw no hesitation.

No. They never ask me anything about vaccination. Even though im a pfizer baby and i did have my card with me. All i gave them was passport, DL and social security card.

Wow I just got the email from this exam. Pre employment on the 25th. OMG that’s 4 days from today talk about short notice.

Well I don’t know I’m confused. Cuz everyone one I ask they say TA is better. Plus it could be me just being anxious about the transition/process. I have to buy clothes, shoes (leather), tie, pants (which I hope fits) plus it’s going to be “that time of the month.” I really have to resign from my current job, I’m not a regular so I don’t have days like that. (USPS) 🥺🥺

Don’t stress whats for you is already here. I don’t need to explain the differences since it was explained already but yea I just learned the differences myself. I have prior city time so for me NYCT is my best bet to buy my time back.

I start on 10/24 at 7am. But I don’t feel prepared. I really want the TA one. I am on so many list they couldn’t find my application. I spent the whole day there yesterday and did the application all over  and did so many paper work. Help me Jesus.

Just take the job and transfer over to NYCT when they call. Secure getting in first.

oh yes i did all the bus exams(TA OA and MTA BUS COMPANY - 9604. 9100, 9309,1100 and i got a letter for 9618) , TO and Conductor. Well 7300 called 1-31-20 first but my DL had not matured it was 1.5yrs and then 0100 called in june 2021 did all the paperwork , labs and medical. Got put on hold 7-13-21, Got called in august 2021 for 9604 but one of the women caught that my license was under 3yrs. Gave me the paper to call for when the date has passed. i called, email and no one answered. So I email them in regards to the medical hold different email for this and they only answer on fridays 10-3. i got an app 09-30-21 urinalysis, eye test blood pressure but they didnt do the hearing test nor the EKG again though. after that, the lady couldnt find my paper for 0100, i came back 10-7-21 and the white guy help fill out more paper work.with PP,DL,SS. after that i was told to go and wait for an email which i got on 10-14-21 for the following dates10-19-21 and 10-24-21.

Bus Operator 9618’s Notice of Examination obviously didn’t include a vaccination requirement because there wasn’t a pandemic at the time, but I don’t think they can amend an NOE after the examination is complete. Civil Service has laws and regulations but I am not an attorney.

What I do know is you can’t be disqualified for a reason that isn’t listed under the NOE otherwise they’d be stepping on a slippery slope. What they can do is include it in their NOE’s for future exams. Thats just my guess.

I’m curious to know if they will require it for new applicants who are applying for the job and not for those who are already on lists.

Very valid point. I would much rather subject myself to weekly or even daily testing. But if push comes to shove I will simply just go get the vaccine smh.

I wonder when they will start calling by. I got a phone call / email to take exam 2302 this month as well, I applied after seeing an ad.

I’ll worry about getting vaccinated when they actually call me down. I don’t want to get the damn vaccine but I won’t be dumb enough to pass up on the opportunity to get into the MTA because of it.

Good for you! My final score on the exam was 90, and my list number is in the 700's.

What's interesting to note as well is, as I play around with the Active Civil Service List webpage, simply by typing "9618" into the search box, the list only consists of 2,871 people - which is not a lot of people, however we'll see what happens as time progresses.

Also scored a 90 list # is 7XX. I’m so excited I can’t wait. Thanks for the link!

Approximately two years ago, they did mail out "vague" disqualification letters, also known as "1-in-3" letters, which you can see below. However, with the fact that everything is now done via e-mail, and from following these threads, I haven't heard of the folks at "Employment Operations" mailing any of these ever since they re-opened from the pandemic.

Have you considered e-mailing employmentcenter@nyct.com or employmentcenterbuses@nyct.com? Hopefully this will do the trick.

Young I did reach out to the those emails with my information that was required and still never heard back. I was hoping for a phone number I guess.

  13. Does anyone have any info on how to put myself back on the hiring list for exam 9309 MTA BUS. I missed my initial appointment because I had a pending moving violation which is now cleared. I tried a while back emailing them with the email provided by young but I have not heard back from anyone and it’s going on two months now. Please anyone with some info.

@N3Grosame, 9618 hasn’t made any moves, and this 0100 I handed my pre employment in June, It’s annoying, I’d like to just have a yes or no answer already!

There is no yes or no it’s just a date to come down and start the hiring process…

  15. Man! it’s taking forever to hear back from this exam. I was emailed back for pre employment after I think 2 weeks for Exam 9309 MTA Bus. This one is dragging and I’m here dying to leave my job. I hope we here something soon. I’m also waiting to hear from exam 9618 ( TA ).

Like everyone suggested, TA/OA is the way the go. But you can alway try it out and resign once the other Agency calls you in for employment process. But here's the thing though, If today you go with MTA Bus just to try it out, you have to make sure you qualified the 7-10 day training process or you won't be able to try the other agency for the next 5 years.

Wow talk about curve ball. Lol I’m just going to wait. I’ve contacted MTA Bus via email to try and get the ball rolling again and haven’t heard back. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Go with Mabstoa. You’ll thank me later.

I’ve heard this! MaBSTOA or NYCT which I’m on exam 9618 with them. However, the guys I’ve spoken to with MTA Bus say they get a lot of down time which they love. They also stated that eventually all 3 of the different bus companies will all have the same pension and retirement benefits etc. Not sure how true that is but I just want them to call me down Livingston… The wait for MaBSToA has definitely been longer than for MTA Bus.

welp not so fast got put on medical hold. :( plus can i go to one of those city md or my primary care for blood work?

Sheeesh... I missed my initial preemployment for MTA BUS Exam 9309 due to a medical procedure I needed to get done. But then was contacted for MaBSToa Exam 0100 and I'm still waiting for a date for my preemployment. My deadline to submit the paperwork was June 15TH.
