The 10 car r179's will most likely stay permanently on the "A" or "C". The 8 car r179's will most likely leave the "C" with the first option order of r211's.

Once the 8 car r179's leave the "C", then the 10 car r179's can go to the "C".

The MTA needs to get some work done on 207, so that the yard can accommodate longer trains. The "C" should not stay mixed length forever.

I dont see the 8 car 179s going anywhere at the moment the (B) and (D) will need new techs. Unless they sign off on Option 2 I dont see the C becoming full length yet

If they're already being treated for it and they can bring documentation from their doctor showing all their diagnosis and their consistent use of treatment, then they really don't need to go through all that.

    start using it. NOW.

I agree with Kamen Rider, get a head start on those 30 days of usage that they need

Yea, That this rate (A) will be fully NTT by middle of the summer, and R46's will only be on the (C) for awhile, after that R179's will start coming off both the (A)(C) lines, even through I want the R179 to stay on (A)(C) , TA should worry about the R179's on (A)(C) last.

as someone mentioned the 179s arent going anywhere

The last certified was done in Sept 2023, I think they should be another one coming up. Yea hoping to get called I'm currently a conductor but at the time when they call me I was just about 4 months out and when I went for pre employment they told me I had to resign as a conductor cause I was not done with probation where they could have put me through as a promotional so I'm finishing up with probation next two weeks so I'm hoping they call me before the end of year would be great 👍

you were not going to be put through as a promotional if you were still a probie, they dont do that

Unless the test gets extended again its set to expire in Sept

I took the test also it was pretty simple you really just have to pay attention. My question is how long is the process for everything like the list and to wait to get a call lol

its pretty long, I took the last test back in 2016/17 and only got called in 2022

Hello,I was called back in Oct last year for pre employment in which I didn't go through with it, then decided to add my name back on the list a month ago. Knowing that this current list will expire in September 2024 do you think it's possible of being called before then

    List number is 74##

    Thank you

So they plan to have a class of about 100 train operators almost every month from now till december

Youd have to see if DCAS recertified the list this year or not already

Thanks for clarifying the situation with ENY. Would it be more feasible to move the (C) to Pitkin while using 207th for the (1) ? Or would they be better off just ordering 8 car R211s if they decide to keep the (C) 480 ft long?

    See response above.

we REALLY dont need anymore 4 car sets in the system, just kick off a few 179s to the (J) so the (L) can have a few more 160 sets for its planned electrical system upgrades

  8. Getting back on topic, good luck to those taking the exam this weekend

make sure you leave extra early as the switch/signal issue at 36th st last weekend definitely screwed over a lot of people

don't let that bar you from taking an exam for what potentially may be a career for you

The (C) was going to go full length 14 years ago but the R44 retirement nixed those plans and spare factor is important to some degree. The R32s had a very high spare factor on the (C) due to their age.

CI R46's run like garbage because they have a very low spare factor on top of losing their R160s. So now they have the majority of the oldest fleet which needs a higher spare factor.

Once congestion pricing kicks in, We are going to see some serious changes as the ridership shifts and changes overtime, This is why Option Order II is important.

It wouldn't surprise me if a set or a group of cars have micro LEDs which are better and would really make those signs look like actual roll signs.

option order 2 wouldve been important regardless of congestion pricing especially since the 268 replacements are way far off
