  1. well I guess the kids are supposedly "at school". Many parents are unbelievably irresponsible. People already were surfing off the back of the R211T. This nonsense is getting out of hand.
  2. 4190-4199 is burn in testing right now.
  3. Yeah some conquestors apparently broke into the back cab of one of them and changed it to an L program (it got taken out of service).
  4. Sounds like an R211T is debuting on the C today (probably 4040).
  5. They might fix other things or make improvements too, maybe higher quality signage and announcements and things like that.
  6. I am assuming that this is fake, unless anyone can confirm otherwvise. (Unable to link but it basically says that the R211T will only be able to run on the C). If this is true, I assume option 2 will not contain gangway cars either.
  7. They are common enough that one can wait half an hour at Penn or something and find one
  8. Not as far as I know, though I may be mistaken.
  9. I think the MTA timeline said April-September, give or take.
  10. Caught an R160 on the B an hour ago. Was running fine.
  11. As a somewhat regular A train rider the R211 is a big improvement. They are smoother, have better lighting, have better rush hour capacity, much better announcements (even if they are underwhelming), better signage, and they generally go faster. I do agree about the seating issue though, but them starting to retire is probably for the best.
  12. My friend saw 4119 supposedly. Was it testing or actually in service?
  13. Well, a month is 30.4 days or 4 weeks and 2.4 days, so every two weeks is different from twice a month. Not sure which one the MTA will do but every two or three weeks makes sense if they plan to do two trains a month.
  14. The second image (click the link) seems to suggest that they are.
  15. I would not trust Wikipedia's numbers very much. I believe more than 70 are built currently.
  16. If they do go on the Rockaway Park Shuttle I would think the A cars would be displaced or retired depending on their performance. They share a fleet with the A anyway, I would not worry too much about that.
  17. Even the ones on the A have deteriorated a lot, especially in the past year. Commuters definitely prefer riding R179 and R211 cars, as they ride smoother. The only advantage to the R46 is its seating.
  18. Come to think of it, 4090-4094 was never paired with anything, nor are there any videos to prove it was delivered.
  19. Has there ever been a fleet swap that everyone was happy with?
  20. 770 to replace the R68/A cars currently on the B, D, N, Q, W. If part of the fleet is for the Franklin Avenue Shuttle I estimate up to 12 more. 782. Then I would say 50 or so cars for fleet expansion and maybe Second Avenue Subway. In the case that R211 option order 2 is not exercised (unlikely but not impossible), it would be much more, up to 500. I estimate 832 cars is a minimum. We will need to see what the MTA needs though.
