  1. I was playing with the new Droids in the mall the other day, they're cool but kinda slowish to me compared to my iPhone but I bet they're overused. One thing I don't miss is that Task Manager which was already installed on the phones in the store.

Yesterday at the Sprint Store in Green Acres the damn Evo died 5 seconds after I picked it up, lol I didn't even get to press anything.

  2. It looks like they replaced the Gertz Mall in downtown Jamaica with a Conway clothing store.

Really? Must be one huge Conway. This is like the 3rd or 4th time they moved Conway.

Downtown Jamaica sucks, the Coliseum sucks, everything sucks lol. Haven't shopped there in years.

  3. That G2 looks very cool, I was in the verizon store playing with the Droids and they were surprisingly slower than I thought (not MyTouch slow tho). Cool phones.

AT&T grinds my gears is the only downside about my iPhone, it's getting worse too. Yesterday the 3G was the same speed as Edge. Tried to make a serious urgent call last week, got call failed everytime. Took about 30 minutes to get through. I seriously cannot wait for it to come to another carrier, I never knew AT&T would be this bad (and expensive).

I also want Google Navigation, I always used that with my MyTouch. I think it's supposedly coming to iPhone, and I hope so. It's so cool (and free) and it doesn't take up gigabytes of space like some of the iPhone Nav apps.

  4. School is canceled tomorrow due to the damage to the campus. In an ironic twist, I actually looked forward to going to school (it's 65% female. You can do the math). All of my textbooks are in my locker so tomorrow is basically a wasted day.

Yeah John Bowne HS is closed too (only closed public school), it suffered damage. I bet Queens College had damage too.

  5. WHOA!!! Isaw a funnel cloud and trees were bending then it started pouring like crazy. The Lightning was insane.

@ForestGlen: Glad I had to do something important to and I missed my last class, they probably would've tried to hold me too. I'm not being held hostage lol. I'm not surprised trees over there are down, those humongous Main st trees. I used to go to school over there. It was a Tornado Warning.

  6. You have a very good point. This whole reliance on the social security number is totally bullshit. They should use their own number system. It's no wonder stuff like Life Lock is becoming so important.

I know, it's always "Enter your 'social' here" like it's nothing. For every little thing, I'm not comfortable with that.

  7. Help me out here, am I crazy to spend almost $1000 on a unlocked iphone 4 32g? I cannot take it to sprint so I dunno, I'm between a rock and a hard place about this.

    From Gizmodo. iPhone 4 no commitment prices are 16GB $599 & 32GB $699.

Almost 1k? Is it factory unlocked or just jailbroken?

That still sounds very high for a phone but then again I'm no expert.

  8. angry-birds-android.jpg

Angry Birds Lite Beta is available in the Android Market. For anyone who hasn't tried this addicting game on the iPhone/iPod touch platform it is now available as a beta on Android.

I've been playing this non stop for the past 3 days (iPhone version). It's very addictive.

I updated to iOS 4.1 a few hours ago and NO games currently support Game Center, pretty shocking since there's thousands upon thousands of games let alone apps. I'm liking the HDR functionality though.

  9. When!!, now i dont have to go to Bushwick for it

Very recently. I haven't had it in years until last week. It's in between Baisley & Farmers, I think on 127th. By that Subway I think.

The prices are great too. I think we got 2 large pizzas for $10. Wish they delivered though.

    Bushwick is far lol.

  10. I usually stick with chains, they just opened up a Little Caesars on Merrick Blvd (I love that place), I love Pizza Hut, Dominos, CiCi's, etc.

    Local Pizzarias:

Margherita's on Jamaica Ave in Jamaica.

Umberto's at The Source Mall in Westbury/Garden City.

I wanna try the Crown Fried Pizza because it's only $1 but I think I'm gonna be hitting up Little Caesars pretty often.

  11. Yeah the G2 looks cool, a predecessor to the G1 is long overdue.

The G1 & MyTouch were supposed to get Android 2.1 in the Spring, it's Summer and I don't think it arrived yet. I probably would've had my MyTouch a little longer if it was updated, it was almost unusable on 1.6, super slow. But it is what it is, better than a Blackberry IMO.

I can't wait to get iOS 4.1 next Wednesday, Game Center & HDR ftw. :)

  12. In my experience T-Mobile has better call quality. I got about 3 dropped calls today which is the most I've ever got (it's not the phone either), I never really get dropped calls but it's getting worse lately, the signal just tends to be slightly weaker overall compared to T-Mobile's.

Both are actually very similar except T-Mobile is slightly better (stronger signals & better voice quality). Data is all over the place with both, I can't accurately compare since it varies so much.

It's like you're paying more and getting less, it's not a good feeling at all but I can't part with this phone. Also AT&T isn't nearly as bad as the media makes it out to be but it's nothing to write home about either.
