  1. Currently don't have a smartphone...I'm using a Nokia piece of junk flip-phone from T-Mobile. I hate that company and I can't wait for either 1: my mom's contract to expire and she transfers over to AT&T, or 2: I land a spot somewhere to work at to save up for an iPhone 4. I'm somewhat skeptical with the antenna issue the phone's currently having, but I have faith in Apple to rectify the problem, whenever that will be. In addition, AT&T offers the tethering feature for the iPhone 4 so if I'm somewhere with no Wi-Fi, I can turn on tethering on the phone and...voilà! Internets for your laptop!!!

  2. Nikon and Sony is way better at DSLR's than Canon.

I'm planning on trying out different DSLR's soon at J&R I'm going to try Nikon and Sony and see which one feels more comfortable.

They are all similar in quality. The majority of people use Nikons and Canons. However, you don't have an SLR yet so you can't exactly say that Nikon and Sony are way better than Canon. All three produce excellent quality pictures.

  3. Man I saw this good looking girl while waiting for the train at Church Av yesturday. She kept starring at me and even sat next to me on the train. I wanted to say something but I was to afraid. I cant let this happen again! If anything, dont tell me not to talk to a girl about trains all day, God knows I would never to bore a girl like that! I think I need to boost up my confidence a little.

If she was looking back at you then she was probably expecting a response. Next time start up conversation.

  4. It depends how long you want to use the camera for. If you want to use it for the long-term then I wouldn't recommend a Fujifilm. Over the course of months and years, quite a few of their models develop focus errors (I have firsthand experience, and many other people on the internet also do) rendering the camera useless. I don't really know much about good cheap digital cameras but Kodak and Canon seem to be the best quality P&S cameras (along with Nikon). IDK if you can get many good manual settings at that price range, but if you can, look for things like optical image stabilization.

  5. Keep your ISO at 400 or 800 in the subway. The more ISO, the more grainy your pictures get so if your pictures look too grainy at 800 ISO then use 400 ISO. As for white balance it depends on the station. Use the setting that makes the picture look accurate in the LCD. You don't want really warm colors at a station like Broadway - Lafayette (:P(D)(F)(V) when the light is very cool.

  6. It makes more sense to just extend the (N)/(W) to LGA because the subway has higher capacity and it would be a $2.25 ride compared to $5 with the Airtrain. If the el were to have a problem with NIMBYs (which shouldn't be a major factor considering this is a FANTASY map) then it could just be build underground.

  7. I've been trying to find ways how to improve my pics quality on my Nikon L18 and they either come out blurry, too light or too dark. Does anyone know anything like settings, tips or any suggestions how to take pics with really good quality? I can't set my own ISO range. But was wondering if anyone can help me.

Is this the camera you're talking about? If so, then you are able to set your ISO manually (your camera has ISO settings from 64 to 1600). When you take pictures underground, be sure to set the ISO to at least 400, or higher if needed. Hold the camera still, and hold the camera straight as well. This will improve how your pictures come out. If you look at your camera there will be a setting on Image Resolution. Always set this to at least 5M (2592x1944), or to a higher resolution. A higher resolution means that your camera can capture more detail in the photos. For white balance, set it to Flourescent or Incandescent depending on what kind of light there is in the station (usually Flourescent). I find that for Night mode, you have to keep the camera really still, especially since you're not using Flash.

But MOST IMPORTANTLY, your photo quality depends on what you take photos of. No matter how good your photo quality is it's not going to make a picture of the middle of the train, or a rollsign, any better.

  8. Have the ISO at 400 for the subway. I see you have an 800 option so you should try that as well. As for settings, don't use sports mode as that mode relies on good lighting conditions, from what I've heard. 800 is a bit much for outdoor cloudy pics. I generally use 200 for outdoor pictures, and either 200 or 400 if it's a cloudy day. Also, if your pics are coming out blurry then make sure they aren't unfocused and to keep your camera more still (unless you mean only the subject is blurred and not the entire picture).
